  3. Notes: WHY YOU KEEP LOSING SPIRITUAL BATTLES BY DR APOSTLE AROME OSAYI

THEME: The sermon explores the transition from the system of law to the system of grace, emphasizing that spiritual victory is not achieved through human struggle but through entering into the rest provided by the finished work of Jesus Christ.

    KEY SCRIPTURES: Hebrews 4:9-10, Matthew 11:28-30, Psalms 1:1-3, Ephesians 1, Ephesians 2, Ephesians 4:1, Psalms 80:18, John 3:1-8, Philippians 3:3, 2 Corinthians 10:6.

PURPOSE: To disarm the believer's reliance on the flesh and human energy, and to usher them into a life of grace where conduct and authority flow from a position of spiritual rest and submission to God.

    MAIN TEACHINGS

THE SYSTEM OF GRACE VERSUS THE LAW
The Old Covenant was a system of law predicated on works and meeting expectations through human effort.
The New Covenant is a system of grace where God has already fulfilled the requirements of divine justice.
In the Kingdom of God, rest precedes work. Our walking must proceed from a position of rest, which is the foundational difference between Christianity and other religions.

    ENTERING INTO REST
Rest is defined as the cessation of one's own works, as God did from His.
The proof of entering rest is the end of struggling against sin (such as pornography or masturbation) using human energy.
Victory is not by power or might but by the Spirit. Believers must transfer their "weight" to the finished work of Christ, much like sitting in a chair.

    THE DIMENSIONS OF THE GOSPEL
Historical: The gospel is rooted in verifiable history; it is not a utopian myth.
Administrative: Through regeneration (being born again), the Holy Ghost is "inserted" into the spirit like a SIM card, allowing the believer to interface with the Kingdom network and hear God's voice.
Ontological: The gospel has the power to change a person's state from a sinner to a saint.

    WALKING AS AN AMBASSADOR
The Christian life follows a sequence: Sit, Walk, Stand.
Walking refers to the manner of life and conduct. As citizens of heaven, believers are ambassadors on earth.
Conduct is the advertisement of the Kingdom. A lack of holiness creates a shortfall in spiritual authority.

    RENEWING THE MIND
Holiness begins in the mind. The "vanity of the mind" is a state devoid of truth where the enemy can sow seeds of deception.
Believers must "abort" sinful thoughts during their gestation period in the mind before they become actions.
The Holy Spirit acts as a "river" that navigates and possesses the thoughts, leading to ecclesiastical designs and supernatural creativity.

    ILLUSTRATIONS AND EXAMPLES

THE BOMB ANALOGY: Apostle Arome tells of a man in a communal war who fainted from the sound of a local bomb and woke up three days later ready to fight, only to be told the war was already won. This illustrates believers trying to fight battles that Jesus has already finished.

THE OFFICE LADY: Apostle Arome shares a personal testimony about a threatening boss. When he prayed, God reminded him that He gave him the job. By speaking from his "heavenly reality" rather than his earthly fear, the situation was resolved without further conflict.

THE PRAYER STRATEGIES: He recounts trying human methods to stay awake for prayer, such as putting stones in his pockets or feet in water, all of which failed. He found rest only when he discovered Psalms 80:18, realizing that quickening is God's responsibility.

THE CORRUPT OFFICE INVESTIGATION: He shares how his file remained clean during a major government investigation (EFCC) because his conduct was governed by his heavenly citizenship, not by the opportunity to steal.

    PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

CEASE FROM STRUGGLE: When facing habitual sin, stop trying to fix it with human willpower. Admit your inability to God and ask for the release of grace to enter rest.

ACTIVATE THE NETWORK: Recognise the Holy Spirit within you as your connection to Kingdom intelligence. Spend time praying in tongues to "switch on" the frequency of grace.

PRACTICE MENTAL ABORTION: Monitor your thoughts. When a thought of malice, lust, or greed enters, identify it as a "wicked spirit" and reject it immediately before it takes root in the heart.

PRE-PRAYER PREPARATION: Before engaging in professional or creative tasks (like engineering or business), spend significant time in prayer (2 hours, as suggested) to allow the Holy Spirit to seep into your mind and provide supernatural insight.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

Victory in the New Covenant is a gift to be believed, not a reward to be earned through works.
The "Prisoner of the Lord" is one who has lost their "option" to rebel because they are bound to God's will by the circumcision of the heart.
Spiritual authority to "revenge all disobedience" is only available when your own obedience to God's instructions is complete.
The mind is the workshop of the Spirit; a renewed mind produces creativity that exceeds human skill.
Your reality is not defined by your circumstances but by who you are before the throne of God.

    CONCLUSION

The war is over, and the price has been paid. Apostle Arome encourages believers to stop the exhausting cycle of fleshly labor and move into the "walking" and "standing" phases of faith by first sitting down in Christ. True holiness is the natural result of a mind possessed by the Holy Spirit.

    DECLARATIONS

I declare that I have entered into the rest of God and I cease from my own works and struggles.
I declare that I am an ambassador of Zion, and my conduct accurately represents the values of the Kingdom of Heaven.
I declare that my mind is under the government of the Holy Spirit and is closed to the vanity of the world.
I declare that because my obedience is complete in Christ, I have the authority to disarm every work of darkness around me.
I declare that I am quickened by the Spirit of God; therefore, my prayer life is powered by grace and not by human energy.
I declare that I am seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above principalities, powers, and office witchcraft.
I declare that the Holy Spirit is stretching my mind to conceive designs and strategies that are beyond human skill.
I declare that every gestation of sin in my thoughts is aborted by the power of the Word of Truth.
I declare that I am a prisoner of the Lord by choice, and I am bound to His perfect will forever.

  4. "Any time you're speaking in tongues and you feel the anointing, begin to speak the counsel of God."

Do you mean, speaking the things the Word says we have in Jesus, or like what the unction is putting on our hearts, or what? Can we speak over other people too? What if they don't know the Lord yet?
