what you said about focus is very profound to me, for the last couple years of my life ive been stuck unemployed with no clue what to do with my life, the whole time i thought i needed to discover myself or figure out who i was but it never helped, now i see that it was the problem. it seems to me that focusing on man or the works of man leads to stagnation but focusing on god and the works of god leads to growth.

'Finding your truth' is a modern day phrase that wasn't used in Johnathan Edward's day. So to hear him apparently say this puts me off this channel a little because I don't know just how much this genuinely is 'inspired' by Johnathan Edward's writings.

I spend so much energy explaining Property damage and theft & other nuisances I have endured, To convince people it's true and not a series of unfortunate happenstance Or just my imagination. His hostile accusation s is another level of his hostility.
Deep preaching is seldom heard today. Modern preaching often takes the form of entertainment, self-help, or motivational talks centered on the idea of living one’s best life in the present world. We then wonder why so many lose their faith or drift away from the church. Although people in our time are different in many outward ways, the essential need of the human heart has not changed. People must still be reminded that God does not need us; we need Him. It is His desire that we recognize this dependence, for He has already given everything that is sufficient. God has scattered proverbial bread crumbs throughout creation and revelation, and we need only look upward to find the nourishment that can change everything. God does not wish to improve the heart but to give us a new one entirely. The preaching once exemplified by Jonathan Edwards is what our age most desperately needs, yet its power is now rarely found.
