A wonderfully balanced and objective presentation. Quite a blessing. I was actually "high" on Booth for about a week stemming from a kind of YouTube "puff piece". I am thankful to have been brought down to earth. May we all learn from the errors of some of our great, if flawed leaders.
Hello fellow sinners and reprobates, I fail to see how it is that the General, who may have been dyslectic and dyspeptic both, can be thought of as a bad person and or an unsaintly man when, I compare him against the Apostles of Christ Jesus. When I compare William Booth the humorless, and his equally sour wife Kate. William and Kate were meant for each-other. He was the Hard Yakka (muscle doer type) and she was the Non-Fabian Annie Beasant of the Strict Christian Type. Come to it in a roundabout way, Christ was judged by his own holy Church council, as a blasphemer and was put to death on a cross in the company of a murderer and a thief. William Booth was as we all are imperfect.
I don't think this is a fair assessment. In the first years it was a move of the Holy Spirit. Yes it's easy to pick out all the faults but they were empowered by the Holy Spirit.
You will encounter the presence of God in the Salvation Army, through your faith to Jesus and guidance of Holy Spirit. Devil possess people freed,sick people miracle cured by prayer.
