While watching The Crown on Netflix a few years ago, I noticed one song being sung was “Zadok the Priest” and a little digging reveals they have sung it at every coronation since the middle 1700s. Zadok the Priest served King David and later anointed Solomon king after David’s death. Interesting that they sing it every time a new monarch is coronated, presumably as a way to reinforce those “British Israel” ties for the public.
I actually live not far from Zion & have visited numerous times. I heard Dowie went fully off his rocker but not the info you shared. Are you referring to F. F. Bosworth the author?
Since you reference Zion specifically, in contrast to Lairdon's "God's Generals" which is more "general" you might wish to consider the biographies noted in Gordon P. Gardiner's "Out of Zion Into All The World."
This is going to be great….. thank you for this!
I'm so glad you are talking about Dowie!
Those leases are like Scientology. Great comparison.
The Mormon church would be in competition with Dowie for the biggest, most powerful cult started in the US,
Joseph Smith had a bank where people lost their money too.
This so interesting about Bosworth. Thank you!
Hoping there will be more John and Charles podcasts to come. 😊
Thanks for the re-edited shorts for those who are interested in that.

You're talking about this like its past tense, isn't it still taking place today? Also, could this group have targeted Germany in the past?
this history is outstanding.. How does this play into the Manifest Destiny that was prevalent in the 1800’s?
Crazy. Have never heard of Dowie or Zion city. Thanks for the history you provide
