While watching The Crown on Netflix a few years ago, I noticed one song being sung was “Zadok the Priest” and a little digging reveals they have sung it at every coronation since the middle 1700s. Zadok the Priest served King David and later anointed Solomon king after David’s death. Interesting that they sing it every time a new monarch is coronated, presumably as a way to reinforce those “British Israel” ties for the public.

  2. Since you reference Zion specifically, in contrast to Lairdon's "God's Generals" which is more "general" you might wish to consider the biographies noted in Gordon P. Gardiner's "Out of Zion Into All The World."
