Why are the views so fucking low this song helped me last week from committing suicide more people should have more love for the true music in our time regardless of genre ?????????
I just got home from the Fairwell Festival in Redmond Oregon. I cannot believe Charles Wesley Godwin did not play this song in Prefontaine’s home state. The crowd would have loved it.
My brain is wired in such a way that I often process external stimuli in a visual manner. With music, despite it not having a physical form, I can still feel and see its shape in my mind. Lemme tell ya, I LOVE the shape of both Strong and CWG's voice. There are textures and nuances in his vocals that are beyond beautiful and unmatched by other artists.
Money's been a wise buck this year Now there's things in life that you've always feared There ain't a use to pouting around Singing 'woe is me' until you're six feet down Always following the same old tracks Time to break off and cut a new path Don't put down these words I say It takes blood and sweat to find a new way You're coming on strong I know your night's been long But I can see you coming around the bend And kicking until the end Like Prefontaine from an outside lane Proving them wrong Coming on strong Every miss is a payment made To a debt of dues that we all must pay Your empty coffers aren't a sign That you haven't saved for a whole lifetime And you can go out swingin' to a cold dark grave They can never say that you didn't live brave Born to nothing but pain and strain Leave with grit fixed to your name You're coming on strong I know your night's been long But I can see you coming around the bend And kicking until the end Like Prefontaine from an outside lane Proving them wrong Coming on strong You're coming on strong I know your night's been long But I can see you coming around the bend Oh and kicking until the end Like Prefontaine from an outside lane Proving them wrong Coming on strong Proving them wrong Coming on strong
Not sure if this will offend some ppl but I’ve had a loathing, like a true hatred for country music my whole life …BUT this isn’t country. It’s folk. And ironically, I actually kind of love folk music. And I think I might kinda love cwg 🙂
I found this song through blind luck one day a few months ago during a total life/career overhaul at 34yrs old and it’s been on every day since. God showed me this little pick me up exactly when I needed it.
My favorite song rn.

If you’re not ready to conquer the universe after this song you really should have someone check to see if you have a pulse!
Wicked awesome
Saw him at Telluride Bluegrass Festival last week:) Awesome performance! Thank you!:)

His lead guitar player is incredible.
This is one of the best country songs I’ve ever heard

Love this song and the message. Discovered CWG through a show I believe but instantly bought his album. One of my new favs!
Anyone else think CWG wittingly or unwittingly borrowed from Brenda Lee's "Coming On Strong"?

This song has me in tears for all the hurting people in this country!
Great Song! Love it!
PREEEEEE !!!!!
Money's been a wise buck this year
Now there's things in life that you've always feared
There ain't a use to pouting around
Singing 'woe is me' until you're six feet down
Always following the same old tracks
Time to break off and cut a new path
Don't put down these words I say
It takes blood and sweat to find a new way
You're coming on strong
I know your night's been long
But I can see you coming around the bend
And kicking until the end
Like Prefontaine from an outside lane
Proving them wrong
Coming on strong
Every miss is a payment made
To a debt of dues that we all must pay
Your empty coffers aren't a sign
That you haven't saved for a whole lifetime
And you can go out swingin' to a cold dark grave
They can never say that you didn't live brave
Born to nothing but pain and strain
Leave with grit fixed to your name
You're coming on strong
I know your night's been long
But I can see you coming around the bend
And kicking until the end
Like Prefontaine from an outside lane
Proving them wrong
Coming on strong
You're coming on strong
I know your night's been long
But I can see you coming around the bend
Oh and kicking until the end
Like Prefontaine from an outside lane
Proving them wrong
Coming on strong
Proving them wrong
Coming on strong
Sounds like no vacancy
You guys are too for uplifting people
