In today’s video, we revisit the preaching of Jonathan Edwards to confront one of the most dangerous spiritual deceptions of our …

  1. Does it produce Love which he doesn't mention! Why does he condemn those Christ has forgiven!
I don't completely agree? Is it by works or by grace? I do believe we should be confronted and disciplined but not beaten down! He makes God sound like a taskmaster rather than a Father and Christ a condemner rather than our Savior!!!

  2. I don't know that much about John Edwards, and judging by the thumbnail, I assume he's not around to comment on this video; however, I'm not sure that he would actually approve of it using his name and likeness to promote this stuff.

While there's definitely a lot of truth in this video, you have to remember that it only takes a pinch of poison to get you.

Regardless of what Edwards would have thought about it (this video), I find that between the wretched AI generated voiceover, and the totally incoherent and confusing message, that it's difficult to figure out if it is merely poor teaching that never clearly states what the message it is trying to get across actually IS, or whether it is in fact some of the worst heresy I have encountered so far on this platform, and considering that is YouTube, that is saying quite a lot.

This video calls on the theological authority of John Edwards, and quotes the Bible quite a bit, but it is difficult to tell if those are taken out of context, or not. It's really an incoherent and confusing message that seems to be a polemic against the plain and simple Gospel of Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and His Blood atonement and resurrection + nothing else that WE can do to be saved, and instead is taking the Gospel and trying to glue some type of works based, or performance based criteria onto the Gospel of Salvation. However, it's definitely difficult to figure out exactly what this video is arguing for.

It seems to be mainly attacking some of the feel good, name it and claim it pro$perity denominations (which definitely need some criticism IMO), as well as the (so called) Easy Believism factions, but other than some vague aspersions towards those groups, you never get a clear exposition of the actual beliefs of those who are being argued against, nor a clearly stated delineation of the beliefs that are supposedly being promoted.

God is not the Author of confusion, but whoever made this video certainly is a strong contender for the title.

For any poor souls that are unfortunate enough to wander in here looking for answers, I recommend you totally ignore this video, and instead check out some teachers that can clearly put forth the Bible in general and the Gospel (good news!) in particular.

Yankee Arnold and Tom Cucuzza are a couple of people who are a good alternative to this video. And check out Chuck Missler's How We Got Our Bible Cosmic Codes and Through the Bible in 24 Hours. J. Vernon McGee, Andy Woods, John Barnett, Mike Winger, Dave Hunt, Gene Kim, Les Feldick, Lee Brainard, Ken Johnson, Mondo Gonzalez (Prophecy Watchers) L A Marzulli, Michael Heiser, Justin Peters, Allen Nolan, and Brandon Peterson. There are others who are teaching the straight Gospel, but these guys should get you started.

Whatever you do, GET SAVED! We are here to choose up sides, choose wisely. 🙏✝️👑✝️🙏

Edit: This video is heresy, and probably blasphemous as well.
YMMV, and it's just MHO, but read the Bible and check out some of the folks listed above, and figure it out.

  3. When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her. 10 Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
    you mighty city of Babylon!
In one hour your doom has come!’
11 “The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one buys their cargoes anymore— 12 cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood, and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and marble; 13 cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense, of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and carriages; and human beings sold as slaves.

14 “They will say, ‘The fruit you longed for is gone from you. All your luxury and splendor have vanished, never to be recovered.’ 15 The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn 16 and cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet,
and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls!
17 In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!’
“Every sea captain, and all who travel by ship, the sailors, and all who earn their living from the sea, will stand far off. 18 When they see the smoke of her burning, they will exclaim, ‘Was there ever a city like this great city?’ 19 They will throw dust on their heads, and with weeping and mourning cry out:

“‘Woe! Woe to you, great city,
where all who had ships on the sea
    became rich through her wealth!
In one hour she has been brought to ruin!’
