He is spot on. I am in my 40’s and suffering from gout in my ankles and knees…need to loose a lot of weight and start making health more of a priority so I can continue to serve.
Nonsense. He died young because he did five times in his lifetime what others do in one. Same with Calvin. Nowadays everyone speaks about food as the great danger. 1 Timothy 4:1-3 – You do not die young because of food or cigars, but because it`s simply your time.
"A pastor to put his bible on his belly" What an expression. So little love. I judge my pastor on his love for Jesus, his theology and his love for the church. Not on what he eats.
While I don't disagree with what's being said here (having witnessed this struggle personally with Pastors over me and extended family), as with all things between God and man, it's complicated. I encourage anyone who struggles with whether this is good or not, to consider Job and, in particular, his conversation with his friends and the young Elihu followed by the Lord's response alongside the passages mentioned in the video. Above all, pray for your pastor!
Interesting to see what the channel op likes and ignores here. Look up what it means to "bear false witness" and how our values display much more than our waste line. It becomes a matter of prioritization, not whether it is important or not.
Someone that forgoes fuel for a long trip but makes sure they have good music, it showing what most would believe is incorrect priorities.
I had a heart attack at 26 years old. Lifted weights and played soccer, considered myself healthy. I also abused heavy drugs and a lot of alcohol before being saved.
My heart hurts everyday, some days really really bad. Just another way of God stripping his children of this world and altering our direction. As Paul Said in Romans 14, who are we to judge another man’s servant? In other words, we just no nothing about someone else in terms of just judgement.
This was good encouragement for having self-control but the recommendation to be busy with the Lord's work so you won't overeat is too simplified: Spurgeon was busier than most in that regards
Spurgeon lived to be 58 I think. The average lifespan in the 1800’s in England was late 40’s I believe. He didn’t do too bad for his time. He was certainly blessed by God.
Spurgeon did not overeat. He had kidney disease and an autoimmune disorder that caused great swelling and weight gain. He smoked because, at the time, it was prescribed by a physician. Future readers will also mock what medical devices and medicines we use today. I'm surprised at Ray Comfort's ignorance, but then again, what can one expect from a man who steals methods from Mark Driscoll and touts them as his own, and who writes books exalting the Beatles who claimed they were more famous than Jesus Christ. Shame on you!
This base generalization is very worthless regarding one of the greatest preachers who ever lived. Most men haven't accomplished in their long life what Spurgeon accomplished in what they consider his short life span. Many godly, and great men lived short lives because of God's choice and providence. Having heard various men critique Spurgeon through the years — none of those I have heard have even come close to BEING the man Spurgeon was. Some opinions are better off left unsaid.
A year ago I was offered a job in writing articles on food blogs. They would send me a e-mail with a text. Let`s say; 'salt is bad for you' ad you had to retype the article in your own words and place it on 5 food blogs. This way, they can inject nonsense in society. In 1 day it`s on 100 websites, the next on 500. Some people really believe these blogs. They think fat is bad. It isn`t. They think tobacco is bad. It is`t. They think organmeat is bad. It isn`t. Etc..
Don't forget that Spurgeon preached in a day with no sound amplification, and preaching to thousands every Lord's day would have taken a great toll on his physical condition. While he did not preach as many times as George Whitefield, yet both died young from being spent in Christ's service.
The struggle is real. Appreciate this pastor.

There are certain types of social Christians that lift up men rather than God and that's not a good idea
Keeping busy is good, but also, just say no.
HOW HARD WILL SATAN FUCK ME IN THE ASS IN HELL?👹👹👹👹👿💩👻🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🐉🐉🦇

One of the greatest preachers of our time, Jonathan Edwards, died from a vaccine that he took to prove to people how safe it was.

Utter rubbish and falsehood. People die at God's appointed time.

Many Pastors are heavy? Why? One of the fruits of the Spirit is self control?
Ray discomfort preach a false gospel turn from all sin to be saved he doesn't believe in Christ Jesus but in works

Whats your opinion on Doug Wilson ?
this video is a really superficial expression about why people, Charles Surgeon, Christians have overweight problems.
Regular fasting helps
