Before being led to this site I was listening to recordings of Spurgeon's teachings by Charles Koelsch and took to heart what Spurgeon said in another teaching that it is a Christian duty to inform others of the Gospel of Jesus.
It took about one year to 'net' three of which one, raised Catholic, jumped out of the net to pursue his hopeful claim on financial security by age 24 or 25, which is only about three years now.
There were some few who seemed quite amenable to working with but on my own, resources limited further pursuit on my part.
Then there are my Catholic neighbors who are reluctant to read the Bible and rely on 'hearsay' of priests. However, a RC acquaintance from AA is getting on in age and we stay in contact but he too refuses to read the Bible. And then he informed me that another quit talking with me for some 'uncertain' reason but it does seem possible he and I will reconnect.
A Baptist neighbor confided in me that he could not understand why the church he attends made him a deacon.
Oh my, Oh my. God is faithful. I pray a prayer and he answers diligently. It will never cease to amaze me how God places stepping stones in my path to help guide me. This sermon was an answer to prayer. Thank you, God.
Thank You Lord for enabling me to hear Your voice—and to love You more than my sin. Great is Thy faithfulness. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come" [2 Cor 5v17]
Thank you Pastor Gavin for recording this. What a wonderful statement of faith from Peter "at thy word"! Regardless of the circumstances, may we trust His Word and not our sight. God bless!
28:48…"I will suppose that you have begun to labour for Christ, and that you feel very stupid at it."
22 May 2021 feeling stupid about praying but after doing so around that time and admitting that my brain was calling me stupid or crazy but after several times doing this while also saying that the Bible tells us to ask for The Holy Spirit to guide us as recorded at John 14 thru 16.
And now it is apparent, when talking with my RC acquaintances that, they being reluctant to read for themselves in the Bible they are possibly as derelict as I was prior to trying to do so.

19:16…" There are some people who seem as if they were born without nerves, or feeling, for they never appear to be downcast"
Such a little verse with massive implications to our lives. Thank you for sharing!

Take the Word of God to be the pole star to you
In all your sailings across the ocean of life
And you shall have a blessed voyage
