Having been in the Methodist church for 66 years I can tell you that not all who profess to be and regularly attend services do not necessarily embrace the “official” doctrine. I lean more agnostic than accepting a literal or factual Bible. It’s a nice collection of old tales and allegories. Not facts. But the social connections of the congregation is a good thing.

We are living in the end times. No one is forcing you to believe, but I am obligated to tell you. Denominations claim that we are saved by faith alone. Salvation begins with faith, but it doesn’t stop there, for Jesus and His apostles provide specific commandments for salvation in the New Testament. They are found below with Scripture references. I hope you’ll read them all. They are NOT a legalistic, cherry-picking list of personal works to check off to save yourself, as many denominations also claim. If you want Jesus to save you, then believe Him and do what He tells you to do.
1. HEAR AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. John 3:16 and First Corinthians 15:1-4.
2. REPENT OF YOUR SINS, THAT THEY MAY BE BLOTTED OUT. Acts 3:19.
3. CONFESS THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. Matthew 10:32-33 and Romans 10:9-13.
4. BE BAPTIZED FOR REMISSION OF SINS. Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-5; Galatians 3:27; First Peter 3:21. Scriptural baptism by total-body immersion in water emulates Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-5). Sprinkling and pouring do not.
5. LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE BY OBEYING AND SERVING CHRIST. Revelation 2:10b; Hebrews 5:8-9; Matthew 6:14-15; Matthew 25:31-46; John 13:34-35; James 1:22ff and similar verses.
THE THIEF ON THE CROSS likely wasn’t baptized, yet Jesus saved him. Can we be saved like that today? No, because after Jesus left the Earth, His apostles continued to preach baptism as part of the salvation process. Since Jesus’ commandments apply to us today, we must be baptized as Jesus commands.
EPHESIANS 2:8-9. “Saved by grace through faith” means that Jesus saves us through His grace as a gift to those who have faith enough to obey His commandments. Faith is essential, but FAITH DOES NOT REPLACE OBEDIENCE to Jesus’ commandments. Hebrews 5:9 says “And being made perfect, [Jesus] became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”
By obeying Jesus’ commandments, we walk in the light; therefore, His blood cleanses us from all sin (see First John 1:7). JESUS SAVES US ONLY IF WE BELIEVE AND OBEY HIM.
The US hit a new low with the United Methodist Church general conference in 2024. They normalized the whole LGBTQ+ movement, voted to ordain practicing homosexuals and lesbians, and recently ordained a practicing drag queen as one of their pastors. The Methodist Church in 1924 was the foremost leader of all the churches for winning new converts in revivals, doing effective world missions, and doing good works such as building orphanages, colleges, and hospitals. Oh, how they fell and the whole country with them in only 100 years. This is one of many clear evidences of the end times apostasy that Jesus predicted in several places in the gospels.
I’m pretty sure John Wesley would go ballistic if he walked into the Methodist church I’ve been reluctantly attending with my wife and saw the woman in the pulpit.

I am now a member of Global Methodist Church and very comfortable there. Sermons are bible based and I get more out of those sermons.
Wesley believed in predestination similar to Arminius, saying election (predestination) was based on God’s foreknowledge. God knew who would believe.

Salvation begins with faith, but it doesn’t stop there, for Jesus and His apostles provide specific commandments for salvation in the New Testament. They are found below with Scripture references. I hope you’ll read them all. They are NOT a legalistic, cherry-picking list of personal works to check off to save yourself, as many denominations also claim. If you want Jesus to save you, then believe Him and do what He tells you to do.
1. HEAR AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. John 3:16 and First Corinthians 15:1-4.
2. REPENT OF YOUR SINS, THAT THEY MAY BE BLOTTED OUT. Acts 3:19.
3. CONFESS THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD. Matthew 10:32-33 and Romans 10:9-13.
4. BE BAPTIZED FOR REMISSION OF SINS. Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-5; Galatians 3:27; First Peter 3:21. Scriptural baptism by total-body immersion in water emulates Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection (Romans 6:3-5). Sprinkling and pouring do not.
5. LIVE A CHRISTIAN LIFE BY OBEYING AND SERVING CHRIST. Revelation 2:10b; Hebrews 5:8-9; Matthew 6:14-15; Matthew 25:31-46; John 13:34-35; James 1:22ff and similar verses.
THE THIEF ON THE CROSS likely wasn’t baptized, yet Jesus saved him. Can we be saved like that today? No, because after Jesus left the Earth, His apostles continued to preach baptism as part of the salvation process. Since Jesus’ commandments apply to us today, we must be baptized as Jesus commands.
EPHESIANS 2:8-9. “Saved by grace through faith” means that Jesus saves us through His grace as a gift to those who have faith enough to obey His commandments. Faith is essential, but FAITH DOES NOT REPLACE OBEDIENCE to Jesus’ commandments. Hebrews 5:9 says “And being made perfect, [Jesus] became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.”
By obeying Jesus’ commandments, we walk in the light; therefore, His blood cleanses us from all sin (see First John 1:7). JESUS SAVES US ONLY IF WE BELIEVE AND OBEY HIM.

The US hit a new low with the United Methodist Church general conference in 2024. They normalized the whole LGBTQ+ movement, voted to ordain practicing homosexuals and lesbians, and recently ordained a practicing drag queen as one of their pastors. The Methodist Church in 1924 was the foremost leader of all the churches for winning new converts in revivals, doing effective world missions, and doing good works such as building orphanages, colleges, and hospitals. Oh, how they fell and the whole country with them in only 100 years. This is one of many clear evidences of the end times apostasy that Jesus predicted in several places in the gospels.

It makes no difference at all. Jesus created 1 Church in Matt 16:18, not tens of thousands of Protestant denominations that started appearing with Luther 1500 years later. All Man made.
