Man this is depressing. All of this is worthy advice. Follow this and you could get work, for sure. But the dude literally exposes the fact that he takes on work that he does not know how to do, then wings it. 1. The output will almost always be substandard. So lose there. 2. Old heads would never take on work that they did not feel they had the aptitude for. For example, I have been active in production since the mid 2000s (not an old head but still around 15years experience). However, I would never take a job for say a wedding videographer, because I have never done a wedding. Even though I am confident I could do it, learning the environment of a wedding is not something I would chance. But I know at least 4 20 year olds who are currently shooting and editing weddings with 0 experience. (incidentally I am helping 1 out with his wedding video and needless to say, it is a trainsmash).
Long story short, the industry is saturated with inexperienced eager practitioners and not with the jaded experienced ones (freelancing mostly). Something has got to give. Just mah 2 cents.
