  1. The joy of the Redeemed in Christ: "…and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him,
    you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory" [1 Peter 1v8]

  2. 27:4427:58…."So he goes to the poor palsied man, who can be of no service to him, and says, “Come unto me! Even thee have I loved with an everlasting love, and I will save even thee!"

    Thanks be to Jesus The Son of The Living God and the covenant they made.

    2 Peter 3:9. "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"

    Spiritually palsied and my two 'charges' are more like my guides.

  3. Amen.

  4. The 13th verse of Matthew chapter 20; "But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny." KJV

    The word "friend" here in verse 13 is translated from the Greek here and then two other verses;

    2083 hetaíros – properly, a companion (normally an imposter), posing to be a comrade but in reality only has his own interests in mind.

    2083 /hetaíros ("supposed friend") suggests someone viewed (associated) as a friend, but is actually an imposter acting for self-gain.

    [Note the textual confusion about this term with 2087 /héteros at Mt 11:16.]

    Did the disciples to whom this was addressed catch the significance?

  5. An excerpt of John Calvin's commentary on the parable Spurgeon references here

    And also results of an AI search about Spurgeon being a calvinist

    If any man should resolve to sift out with exactness every portion of this parable, his curiosity would be useless; and therefore we have nothing more to inquire than what was the design of Christ to teach. Now we have already said that he had no other object in view than to excite his people by continual spurs to make progress. We know that indolence almost always springs from excessive confidence; and this is the reason why many, as if they had reached the goal, stop short in the middle of the course. Thus Paul enjoins us to forget the things which are behind, (Philippians 3:13,) that, reflecting on what yet remains for us, we may arouse ourselves to persevere in running. But there will be no harm in examining the words, that the doctrine may be more clearly evinced

    AI Overview

    Yes, Charles Haddon Spurgeon was a Calvinist. He did not adhere to the label out of reverence for John Calvin but because he believed Calvinist doctrines, particularly the "five points" of Calvinism, were directly revealed in the Bible. He considered Calvinism to be simply shorthand for the gospel truth.

  6. An early morning thought was that I don't pray enough and then sought to see about spurgeon's teachings on prayer and I didn't even search Spurgeon centers website but this was presented to me.

    An excerpt;…" I have always found that the meaning of a text can be better learned by prayer than in any other way. Of course, we must consult lexicons and commentaries to see the literal meaning of the words, and their relation to one another; but when we have done all that, we shall still find that our greatest help will come from prayer"
