  1. 22:4022:58… "And there are many books that have been written by persons who are members of that Church which, nevertheless, are full of such a savour of grace and holy fellowship with God that we cannot but believe that the authors of them are God’s hidden ones."

    I'm quite certain that I read of spurgeon's library being some 12,000 books. He did try to keep abreast of so much of what was going on in his day. This sermon was delivered 1888 towards the end of his life here on Earth.

    Ecclesiastes 12:12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh

    2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation

    Now in the 21st century we have a lot more books and a lot of them have a lot of misinformation

  2. Following is an excerpt Albert Barnes commentary on Psalm 83 verse 4. And then verse 5 makes me think of the way the UN votes regarding the state of Israel.

    Joel Gilbert, in 2007, released an interesting movie titled "Farewell Israel:"

    "That purpose has been abandoned by Satan and his friends only because the result has shown that the persecution of the church served but to spread its principles and doctrines, and to fix it more firmly in the affections and confidence of mankind, so that the tendency of persecution is rather to overthrow the persecutor than the persecuted. Whether it can be destroyed by prosperity and corruption – by science – by error – seems now to be the great problem before the mind of Satan."
