I appreciate his tone, his words, the gentleness with which he talked about his dad AND mentioned the thing a that hurt …. So grateful for that tension being communicated cause a lot of us pastors kids and missionary kids understand
This conversation was so rich on multiple levels. The Spiritual maturity and wisdom was off the chain. Also Tim did a great job at holding space as the interviewer and deciding not to talk much to allow Eddie JR to talk at length
Biggest take away: You must humble yourself to the TRUTH that "I am God" to begin to move as a Child of God as One Spirit with God doing the will of God and maintaining and restoring the Beauty of God in creation and the lives of all people who are all call by God to be Children of God.
Tim, be encouraged. About 2 months after The Basement(unbeknownst to us at the time), my friend/brother and I started and men's group that meets on Tuesday nights. I found out about The Basememt shortly after "the saints" got mad at your viral video where you called Jesus a stripper. 😂 Our meetings were/are based on vulnerability and open participatory conversation with men.
We starting meeting in my friend's apartment where he and his wife and 3 (2 at the time) daughter live. We would eat around 7p and the conversation would start at 8p and go until 10p sometimes 11p. And sometimes we would loiter outside the apartment (in the COLD) until midnight. ON A TUESDAY NIGHT.
After I began listening to the pod, I would come home and watch the Tuesday episode in its entirety. This was regular routine for months, because I was amazing at how aligned the content was with the content of our group (Men of Action) now a non-profit organization.
I saw all this to say that your reach with the Basement is not just an assignment for you, it is a movement of the Holy Spirit. Keep doing your thing. I have this feeling that one day my friend and I will be sitting on the couch talking to you guys on The Basement.
