I love how God used Bishop Long via TV for years in my life. It broke my heart to see him so thin in that last video. The allegations didnt overshadow the Divine breakthrough that God brought in my life through that Taking Authority program. Praying for his family. May they see the good that he did and the lives he changed for the better.
The question that should have been asked is: Did your dad do what they said he did? If yes, confirm. Then , go on your own conversational lane. I don't like it when people try to deflect questions.
I remember when Bishop Long would stop get fuel in his Rolls-Royce. For some reason I would always be at the Amoco when he was there, he would always speak a word over my life.
When he said “I feel yall are gaining power and we’re losing power” I wonder if he understands how wrapped in patriarchy that statement is. The very thought of power being in the hands of black women who have holding us up and soothing us and bearing our abuse our love and raising our children despite being fearful of us for good reason…yikes on bikes we got work to do
I’m so glad I stumbled upon this interview today. We live different lives and face different circumstances, but this man of God has confirmed and validated some things in my life today! Hallelujah. May the Lord continue to bless his daily walk and his family.
People WILL ALWAYS people. Bishop Eddie long in the prime of his ministry was a wrecking ball to traditional Baptist churches. There was a lot of hate. I was a member and the spirit of God was in the service and the Word was being preached. With the thousands of believers you have to take into account the demons the haters the judases. Bishop long wasn’t perfect but who is? Not Paul. Not David. Not Solomon not Moses not Peter not Abraham
I didn't think that Minister Edward was mainly speaking about Pastor Bryant because he wasn't part of New Birth until after the fact.. You would have had to be at New Birth to know the people Bishop elevated and put in position through NEW BIRTH. I was a member at the church for at least 20years, so I know first hand who Edward is speaking about. Pastor Bryant came after Pastor Davis…… He's talking about them ones who was walking, traveling, the pastors who he gave churches to in different states, the gospel artists who came to New Birth to promote their new music, and books when the ministry was on strong….. Where were those same people, some of the elders and all of the above, when Bishop and his family was at their lowest point.. I even saw prominent Bishops speaking out negatively about Bishop Long on social media platforms, when they should've been praying for him and his family.. We need to do better saints! Remember the old saying if don't have anything good to say, don't say it at all.
Last I checked we're to "WORK OUT OUR OWN salvation with fear and trembling." regardless of how our parents lived……I don't say that flippantly,but with truth and sensitivity. Keep it moving and put the LORD 1st. Most people must know Bishop Long lived his life, and has given account for it,we MUST learn to understand we must do different
Pastor Bryant inherited a 32 million dollars debt and 4 months from being foreclosed and now its down to 9M , that's legacy covered and is still respected.
Maybe it was his father struggle with the same sex is why he did not want his son hang out with him or just be present with him. Perhaps it might have been his present wife had a problem with his son. Wives want attention too.
Lost me at that All Lives Matter theology. I have a balanced view of EL, Sr., but we can't get around the fact that he went hard against LGBTQIA+, but was mum on racial issues. And part of the "dishonorable" aspect of his father's life is glaring hypocrisy of the social issue that he chose to plant his flag.

Glad this came on my algorithm. Bishop Eddie Long once came to South Africa in the late 90s. His preaching was soul shaking. So powerful and real.
He stated that our community doesn't like having hard conversations but he talked in circles this whole interview.
