Had the honor to see him play last night in Stockholm. What a great show! Very humble guy and cares a lot about his family! I hope he will make it to music industry and continue play country music. Such a great voice and good at guitar! Don’t hesitate to watch his concerts/shows. It’s worth it!!
Thanks for the beautiful song man!! Third generation Ohio coal miner here, we lost most of our local coal mines in '16, lots of good jobs and ma and pa business' dead and gone now. I miss the America that worked for their money, and loved their families, country, and God!!
My grandpa worked for Olga out of coalwood wv he’s long gone I’m 22 now and am a hard rock miner thanks for keeping this lifestyle alive seems like everyone else has forgotten miners
Thank you Charles for writing and singing about our shared history- lest we never forget what coal and steel did and continues to do for our country and the world- may you have a long and prosperous music career , that our lives be enriched by your beautiful works- Much admiration from Ely, Minnesota
This is real Americana. I met Charles three years ago when he played a small gig in a small bar in my small rural town in Sweden. I chatted with him before and after he played. Lovely man. Ther were only about 50 people in the place on a weekday night. After he'd played, he walked off the small raised corner stage of the bar and more than half the people left. Then a couple of minutes later he pulled up a chair way forward of the stage by the 20 or so of us still sitting at a few tables, and started to chat with, and asked "do you want to hear a few more?" And went straight into a cover, Country Roads, which coming from his home and his heart was the greatest version I'd ever heard. What a great evening, the music and the back and forth between us. His music hits you where it hurts in a good way that also soothes. Listen to his Seneca Creek album if you haven't already heard it. My signed copy is almost worn out. A few months later Joshua Ray Walker played in the same bar, also a fantastic singer/writer. 🇮🇪🇸🇪
This song speaks to me, my grandfather worked in the coal mines for years after he fought in the pacific during world war 2. his son, my father, has provided me an incredible life. I love my life
My dad, his dad and my mom’s dad along with so many of my relatives provided for their families by extracting coal from those beautiful hills in McDowell County…. Great song CWG! Keep doing what you do. Love your music!
Love folk music a lot. Both US and UK styles. Ironically, I have a deep hatred for country music, like it makes me angry. But real folk, deep story, well written. I can get with that all day. 🙂 Love this

This was my introduction to CWG and I'll remain partial to it. I hope he gets back to performing this live cause it's one a hell of a song.
