Please realize that every time the Church falls into a stagnation God has to use someone who is passionate about his work and brings an awakening. Like the so-called reformers, and another like Finney, if it had not been for them that they gave themselves to God with passion yet who knows we were under your manipulation.
In part you are a liar, you say Finney was a Presbyterian, but you don't say he didn't agree with his doctrine. Like you Baptists, some are reformed, other conservatives, etc …
You have a nice gift, to manipulate the scriptures like those who profess sects. John in this letter presents the way in which sinners enter a process of perfection or maturity, to reach the title of children of God, chapter 3. Why did you not read chapter 3 ?, where he says that if you practice sin you are of the devil, and if sin is in you the seed of God is not. To be a child of God, the image of Christ must have been formed in us where sin cannot be tolerated. If we confess that we are sinners after accepting the sacrifice of Christ, we make his blood invalid and make God a liar since he sent Christ to take away man's sins and we continue with them. For this reason in chapter 2: 1 it says if any one sin, we have an Avocate with the Father, Jesus Christ [the] righteous; if any one without, as saying that it is not due. My interpretation of all this is that, even when we live in this human nature, the sacrifice of Christ has freed us from all the pains of it and even when we are exposed to sin, our new life in Christ makes us reject all the offers to which by sin we expose ourselves. You are manipulative
John 3: 1 Behold, how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God, and it is not yet revealed what we will be. But we know that, when he is revealed, we will be like him; for we will see him just as he is. 3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure. 4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness. 5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and in him is no sin. 6 Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn't seen him, neither knows him. 7 Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.
Credit due to that ministry of that awakening in the America.., The fruit and strong ongoing fruit that came out of that. The strong conviction that people who gave them thoroughly to the Lord . Was seen in the majority of those who came to Christ was seen years later..The beauty of the Holy Spirit's conviction in you and me shows us our pride, our critical hearts, our unbelief… l ask what have you done for your Lord out of a willingness and conviction……? as it is written Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? 2 Cor 13 v5
It’s hilarious that you think that Charles g finney was a Calvinist. That heretic was proud to be an Arminian Presbyterian is what he called himself and believed that salvation was based on man’s free will decision not the act of God just like you believe. He is a utter heretic just like you and he hated Calvinism just like you as well. Your misinformation and irony is hilarious I urge you to just google if Charles finney was a Calvinist and you will see that he hated Calvinism just like you and believed in decisionism.

What sins do you do that you are not aware of, thus cannot repent of?
