Does that mean we should exalt church doctrines above the word of God?
A church doctrine can have loopholes, because some might be founded on personal encounters, personal convictions, and personal interpretation of the scriptures.
I don't believe a chutch doctrine should stand in the way of God's instruction. In all, love superceded.
What Baba was doing, is that he protected his heart against offence that would block his way from the vision God had given him. Many pastors are always threatened when a young man is trying to set out on a different call. Hmmmm!
Wonderful video but the title is misleading. I was there when he preached this message. The purpose of the message is to discourage murmuring not encourage it. A more accurate title would use "Could" instead of "Should"

Disobedience to leadership of the church is also disobedience to God, that's what I learnt in Deeper Life.
But, when you also know your calling and what the Lord has committed into your hands, it's better to take your stand and please God rather than men.
If he had obeyed his leader, his ministry would have died before it started
