I'm so sorry I agree with him that it could be a sign of lack of submission and it could possibly lead to feelings of inadequacy but if a man commits adultery, it's not because she kept her last name… that would be his fault, not hers… this is how women get trapped in cycles of narcissistic abuse. The Bible didn't talk about changing a last name when getting married. It did talk about adultery though and humbling ourselves. I sincerely hope church leaders ask Jesus Christ what He thinks about abuse of powers.

I actually hyphenate my name so people can automatically know I’m married! My children have their fathers’ last name and mine is hyphenated.
It may mean you have been married to before with previous children and you keep the name for continuity
