    For a great example of his 2 mic setup Louis talks about at the end. Check out how he mic’d his kit on Knower’s overtime with shure beta52 in that kinda wurst spot over the kick and then an akg over his left should getting the sparkly stuff.

  2. Nahhh….that “Baaaaby” scream is seriously some of the FUNKIEST vocals of the last decade for sure. From the intervals of the notes themselves to the pure, raw, emotionally expression. Wow.

  4. This is great, but for fuck sake – you're completely adjacent to Dirty Loops right now. Between Quincy Jones and Louis Cole, you need to do a video about what Dirty Loops mean to music. I wanna hear you gush over it.

  5. Part of me is disappointed they didn't talk about Clown Core, but another part is glad because Clown Core feels like something that doesn't need talking about, it just is.

    Toto's "Mushanga" which contains arguable Jeff Porcaro's best drum grooves (as well as being a neat song to break down) COMPARED WITH Toto's "I Will Remember" which as a tribute to Jeff Pocaro after his sudden death, now with Simon Phillips playing a groove that tributes Jeff's original groove but is definitely Simon's own….
    There would be so much to break down and analyse and be amazed over I feel
