  1. Speak about stealing. whether is good or bad to steal or not in whatever form- either political, economic, property or emotional stealing. This station doesn't have any moral or spiritual position to talk about an issue as such. Stop the hypocrisy NOW.

  2. I assume the headline is misleading…..

Because I listened to the interview.

    My own take is:

Do what the scripture says….Be it new or old testament.

However, I and my household ,I will continually serve the Lord and continually pay my TITHE…..Have never regretted paying tithe…it's a Blessing.

  3. First Realm of Interpretation: Thithe = Farm produce and live stocks
New Testament = Christ has redeem us from the curse of the laws
Old Testament = After collection of tithe eat with liquor

  4. It's remarkable how today's version of "tithing" has no biblical precedent yet its frequently taught as a biblical mandate. There's nothing wrong with choosing to tithe, money or otherwise, to a church organization or otherwise. There's just no biblical universal mandate for everyone to continually pay 10% of their wages (or any other income) to a religious institution. Not New Testament, or Old.

  5. let me explain why christain should pay tithe.

    1) tithing is a commandment.

God gave moses the 10 commandments in mount Sinai, and asked him to teach the Israelites.

Exodus 24:12 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

    the 10 commandments are

    Exodus 20:3-5, 7-8, 12-17 (KJV)
    1) Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

    2) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

    3) Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain;

    4) Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

    5) Honour thy father and thy mother:

    6) Thou shalt not kill.
    7) Thou shalt not commit adultery.
    8) Thou shalt not steal.
    9) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
    10) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Now, noticed, God commanded moses to teach the israelites. To teach means a detailed explanation. it means tp break ot down so that they can see and understand it's application.

So Moses taught them. and the 10 commandment was all what Moses taught them. every message, sermon he preached, he preached and taught out from one of these commandments. let me give you example.

when moses started teaching about the very first commandment, which is, Thou shalt have no other gods before me, he began to explain and break it down in details. he started teaching them how to serve only God, and one of the ways is to pay tithe to him. So tithing is the first commandment. let me show you this is the bible.

Leviticus 27:32-34 (KJV) And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.
He shall not search whether it be good or bad, neither shall he change it: and if he change it at all, then both it and the change thereof shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.
These are the commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel in mount Sinai.

so tithing is part of the 10 commandments. if all other commandments still stand, tithing still stand.

Gods mercy does not break THESE commandment. .

Now, Jesus came and also gave more details to the commandments.

Matthew 5:27-28 (KJV) Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Jesus gave more detail to the commandments. but for tithing, in another chapter, he instructed that we continue to pay tithe.

Matthew 23:23 (KJV) Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Jesus said they are focusing on the minor matter and left the weighter one undone.

yes, Jesus called tithing the minor matter, but he also encouraged that both the minor and the weighter or major should be done.

    TITHING IS NOT A LAW.
Exodus 24:12 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayest teach them.

Now there is a difference between the law and commandment which God commanded Moses to teach them.

    LAWS
    the laws are rituals like,
    – sacrificing animals fo the remission of sins.
    – circumcision, etc.

    COMMANDMENT
    – Commandments or cultures and morals.

the 10 commandment is not a law, its a commandment

  6. For those who don't believe in tithing, because its about giving, let me ask, is tithing a sin?

I don't care what anyone says, tithing is a way of saying thank you God for your provision.

    Just follow your heart, simple.

  7. The primary reason why many Christians' do not tithe is because they want to justify their non-giving's to God, one of the things i discovered about tithing is that it gives you the discipline to give to God, if you're not a tither, do an honest and sincere audit of your giving's to God for an entire year, you will be shocked how small it is and how inconsistent it is, also why should giving to God even be a subject of debate, God is the giver of life, air, water, health, strength, protection etc, man by default is deeply ungrateful, you came into the world with nothing and will leave with nothing, the money you have, God gave you the grace to acquire it, i care less about the opinion of men, i will continue to tithe all my life, period.

  8. How does tithing of Christians affects the collective goal of the Nigerian nations? Are we done discussing insecurity in the nation? How about the high rate of inflation, does tithing of Christian believers play a role and how? How does tithing contributes to the extreme injustice, division, marginalization inherent in the nation's? I think we are losing focus on issue based discussions.

  9. Unfortunately some people are awake and some are still sleeping in their faith. The Jehovah’s witnesses have long stood against Tithes for time immemorial but only voluntary contributions are made. Their understanding of the bible is just incomparable to that of other churches. Wake up Christians and stop feeding your Pastors.

  10. Pastor sir, is your theology coach your Jesus or God that tells you how to interpret the scriptures? I think you are loosing it gradually if man has taken the place of the HOLY SPIRIT in your life.
I will recommend you go back and ask THE HOLY SPIRIT who teaches all things to guide you as you learn more about tithing.

Tithing has been speaking for me andy family.
    God bless you.😊

  11. ●John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

  12. What a cross-fire! I'm overwhelmed by the quantum of reactions and counter-reactions on this "beautiful bride" topic.

One needs not be an Ahitophel to discern the dagger-drawn postures were from three irreconcilable camps: those benefitting, those not benefitting and those looking forward to benefitting in future.

Money and the love of it has always been a big matter. No wonder, it is recorded that "You can't serve both God and the Bank"- Luke 16:13 [Message Bible].

I do not think there would have been these many interests and reactions if the discussion had been about Discipleship, Carrying our Cross daily, Dying to Self, Dying to the World, etc or centred around formidable scriptures: Luke 9: 23-Amplified, 3 John 7- The Living Bible, 2 Corinthians 5:15, Colossians 3:2, Matthew 10: 37-39, Psalm 73:25, Luke 12:15, 1 Timothy 6:6-10, Matthew 6:19-21, Luke 14:33 and such like.

  13. Personally I will continue thanking God for his provision like that.

There was a time I didn’t have anything. It’s a privilege for me to honor God’s word with the tithe….

We give God our souls, our lives; now is giving God the 10th of our financial or other blessings that WE RECEIVE FROM HIM too hard to do???

I will continue honoring God that way. It’s such an honor for me to do so.

  14. There were REASONS for TITHE in the OT

Those reasons are no longer valid in Christianity. Therefore tithe is no longer valid.

When it comes to giving money., Christians gives as they desire. There is no rule on percentage of what to give. No bosy has right (pastors or whoever) to state what somebody should give in a fellowship.

  15. But before they get rich they took tithe, and now they are rich, but why would you change the bible, look its written in the bible even in the new testament, even few but still in the Bible, remove it from bible and we must stop giving and tithing
