Talking about the things that irk me a ton about Christian movies! Not the most original topic in the world, but I have limited ability β¦

I feel as though many Christians only read Paul's letters and not the entire Bible, which dampens their creativity. A lotta filmmakers are Jewish and they make great movies. Genesis ends on a cliffhanger, and does not at all foreshadow Moses in Exodus. The OT comes off like a TV show drama to me.
If you do want to see a good chritsian movie or show, I recomend "The Chosen" its a show of the life of christ wich is liked by Christians and some Not belivers. Also I guess "War Room" but I dont know if your into that thing. Also "Heaven is for Real" and "Miracles from heaven" are aperantly based on Real life. But I think "The Chosen" is SOOOOO good, it might be worth a review on it. Its just a video idea, i guess. But again its still my opinion, so you may not even like any of these or some of these, but I think there worth watching. And Sorry for my Bad typing skills.
I agree. Christians really need to get it into their heads that making movies, TV shows, or books with overtly Christian messages doesn't reach the general population, it only makes for material that's taylored specifically to Christians by Christians. Of course there are exceptions such as in the case of VeggieTales or movies that depict Biblical events like Ten Commandments and The Prince of Egypt. But for the most part, overtly Christian movies like God's Not Dead and A Matter of Faith serve only to preach to the choir rather than actually reach the unsaved. I have an idea for a novel that acts as a Christian story but without being in a preach to the choir way, though it's currently on the backburner
I've thought about along these linesβ¦ Christian 'music', or novels, and moviesβ¦ too often the plots are placed out like you outlined here. I firmly believe that the BEST Christian "focused" media forms really need to have the protagonist is normal, every day, situations. Like you said, portray all of the roles as human β the only thing that really should stand out is that the point of view is from that of Christ. I pray on this. I like writing short stories, and i know i struggle. Probably could be critiqued for not being more "in your face" with my Christian beliefs and point of view. :/ Oh well. Thank you Stephanie. An excellent video IMO. Thank you for taking the time to make and share.
Great reflection on why a lot of Christian movies should be better! I want to work in movie making, so will be interesting to see how it turns out π
Hey! When I first watched I wasn't sure whether I should hit like or not, but after giving the issue some thought, I agree. Every Christian movie has almost the exact some plot. So, the question is how can we change that up?
Maybe do more allegory? Someone cloud do the other books in the Chronicles of Narnia series. It's always just the first four. Or, maybe someone cloud do some of Gilbert Morris's books. Why don't Christian filmmakers make more movies about Christian books?
The only Christian movie that saved my spirit was "The Shack" shocking I know, if you have seen it. It 100% gave me love again and closer to God. I use to always think well if you care so much why arent you taking this pain away but the whole movie really is about how he never leaves your side no matter what is going on in your life. I always thought that God would provide a pain free life but that's not true, he promises a lot of it but he will be there for it all. I don't go to church because I do not believe in them. I believe in God and his strength to hold me up and that is enough for me.
I guess one thing that happens is they have some moral message and the whole film is about that but they don't have the experience of being in Hollywood or whatever so they don't get as highly regarded as say The Simpsons or whatnot even though secular shows can be equally ideological (nearly always liberal).
it def feels like christian movies are badly done propoganda completely lacking any artistic influence or creativity which tends to make them so bad in general . God's Not Dead is a great song but oh god the movie was a dumpster fire

I liked the movie "faith like potatoes ". It had a good balance of realism. Probs bcoz it was based on true story.

You are making excuses for your own short comings and lack of belief.

Which Christian film is your least favourite and why?
Do you watch Say Goodnight Kevin's channel? I feel like you might enjoy his critiques of Christian media π
They are TERRIBLE! They are also way too political.
