Interesting notion regarding whether God splits His Will. I question the 2 Wills doctrine. I think that God uses different aspects of how He conveys His Will but doesn't change His Will in different situations. Otherwise, God would change His mind in certain circumstances, and He would not be considered constant. Also, that would send the wrong message that God does NOT know everything there is to know. Finally, God speaks, in some instances, in a way that humanity can understand. For example, when the Scriptures say that in one instance, the Lord repented that He made man. We know that God NEVER repents, because He is not a sinner, nor is He evil. He uses certain language to demonstrate His love for His creation. This video does raise valid questions, but we, even Christians, cannot judge the mind, will, purpose, Divine Sovereignty, Divine Providence, or any other Attributes of God, because the Lord is outside of time, and nobody knows everything there is to know about God, and that is why God controls everything that He has created, though God has given humanity responsibility, and He holds humanity responsible and accountable.
Romans9:20-21 never reply against God. He makes one to honor and another to dishonor. The power of God to create this situation were the relationship between God and man should be genuine. Those that reject is genuine rejection and those that love God it's a genuine Love. The gospel is the power of God to save by grace through faith in Jesus the crucified and resurrected Son.
Following is a favorite passage of Calvinists in John 6. Verse 37 Jesus states that ""all the Father gives me will come to me." Who is this group of people?
35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”
Take note of what chapter 6 verse 40 states: "everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life". Note everyone, not a preselected group. Everyone who believes (i.e. places their trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior – John 3:36) joins the group the Father gives to the Son. Why do the Calvinists ignore verso 40? Maybe it's because it doesn't fit their preconcieved ideas they attempt to force upon the inspired scriptures. Also verse 35 states the one who "believes". The choice is clear: believe the scripture as it's written in it's context or believe a man made philosphy being forced upon the scripture. The choice has eternal consequences.
The just shall live by faith. Trying to figure out Gods doings is above my pay grade. It's interesting but hard to reconcile why with all a Christian faces these days , the world the flesh and the devil. Too much analyzation of these doctrines can be unsettling . I believe and confess my sin and trust my soul to a faithful creator .
But isn’t the Calvinist view very unlikely to deceive people thinking they are “saved“ when they are not the majority of Protestant churches teach the opposite view and mislead people through the manipulation of the altar call and reciting the sinners’ prayer. One way to look at it is by something called “decisional regeneration.“
Arminian churches, which again are the vast majority in Protestantism, much like in the Roman Catholic system of semi-Pelagianism, ultimately you save yourself. It’s just that God makes it possible for that by sending Jesus to die on the cross.
So much of this is about timing. God's timing. All, eventual, 10+ billion of us don't get to have every single event in history unfold according to our own plans. So, God intervenes. Pharoah disrespected God and Moses. God knew that his heart was already hard, and Pharoah toyed with them — on again, off again: go, don't go. GOD hardened Pharoah's heart, as if to say, "This show is going on the road NOW. " Likewise, if God foreknows our every move, who are we to demand that He give us an unlimited amount of chances? After all, Jesus said, " seventy times seven ", not, " infinite. " You asked ~ if God sinned through crucifying Jesus. To answer that, I will ask this first: Is it as much that God condemns people to Hell, or that He condemns SIN to Hell, and we simply won't let it go? Do we hold sin so tightly that no one can pluck it out of OUR hand? Was this not also the case with Jesus — that God condemned our sins to death, and Jesus held on to them, till they took him down? He knew that God would raise Him back to life. We too, should know that He will raise us. So, if God was wrong in ordaining the crucifixion, that would mean that he was wrong in proclaiming our death as a judgment to our sin. Know this, that God gave the law and commandments to us, not Himself. He is our Lord, we are not His Lord.
Foreknowledge is so much of the key towards resolving this age old debate. As are the points made in this teaching. God's infinite mind can run every possible scenario by us and see if there is even one that we would follow Him in. Did He not extend the length of a day, so that Israel could win a war? He likewise wants us to make it.
2 Peter 3;9 in contect all of 2 Peter is written to Christans and v9 has two parts. Part A again defines the "who" Pdter is rdferring to and part B is the scope of Gods promise. It is not Gods will that all should be saved – if it was all would be saved but Gods elect John 6:41 – is those who God has saved and God alone k ows who they are
"BECAUSE WHEN I CALLED, YE DID NOT ANSWER; WHEN I SPAKE, YE DID NOT HEAR; BUT DID EVIL BEFORE MINE EYES, AND DID CHOOSE THAT WHERIN I DELIGHTED NOT" (ISAIAH 65:12)
Yes but there are other Reformed treatments of the “all” texts. I really don’t think God loves all people equally and when God says He wants all to be saved, this is speaking of his intention of saving every last one of the elect. Arminianism is universalism trying to hang on to Gospel language. The only consistent form of Arminianism is universalism which is heresy. The only consistent Gospel interpretation is that which denies libertarian free will, And God’s determination to save His elect and only His elect. Ask Agag if God genuinely loved him in any sense. 😉

Some Calvinists have the same understanding as Edward that God has two wills.
This is classic Calvinism. Calvin taught this doctrine as well. Edward’s was a self-identified Calvinist.

It's quite simple…. It says God desires, it doesn't say it is his will. His will always comes to pass, his desire will not supersede the will.
