God, the spirit (holy spirit) in him knew. when you and the father's relationship becomes personal and direct it's pure intimacy. after spending so much time with someone on a daily basis, hours a day, you become like them. you adopt their ways and start "finishing each others sentences" right? you know what their thinking in a way. its the same way with God. anyone who spends time with him like that on a daily basis God starts to share with us his thoughts. his thoughts become ours. the spirit in him knew ofcourse because its Gods spirit, god will protect the integrity of the truth ofcourse but he still used him in a great way one last time. god shows us his power and the beauty, the mystery of being close to him. only god could've said this through him.
