Angela’s Ashes, Terms of Endearment, The Red Shoes, Marley and Me, Beaches, A Star is Born (Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga version), Inside Out, Steal Magnolias and Rent were all so terribly sad. I felt utterly depressed and overwhelmed after watching the abject hopelessness of Angela’s Ashes. But yes, these films, along with the ones listed, all were so very sad, as well. (Except The Notebook, I truly hate that film)
WHAT DREAMS MAY COME is THE saddest film of ALL TIME. It is so sad, it's mean! That it's not even on this list at all shows a remarkable lack of knowledge and depth.
For me some Bollywood n korean movies are really sad, like Dev Daas, Mimi, Taare Zameen Paar, Rab ne Bana di Jodi, Wedding Dress, Moment to Remember. I like Partition too. It is really sad.
Where's 'Champ' ?? A young boy watching his dad die isn't heartbreaking enough?? Not only does he lose his Dad, but he also has to cope with his Mum and her new family. Champ only went into the ring for the sake of helping his son, but also to prove a point. Why do none of these lists ever think to put this heart killer on these lists ???
Grave of the Fireflies had one more heartbreaking secret. Decades after the movie came out, someone turned up the brightness on the poster and it was discovered that the fireflies are actually explosives and bullets being dropped by a bomber airplane on the kids.
The Way We Were is it for me. My daughter and I watched it several times and cried our hearts out every time. My daughter died in 2005 at 33 and I doubt I could watch it now.
Make one of pets/animal movies please 🙏🏼
It’s sad how we have actual Fascist and nazi sympathizers in mainstream politics wanting to repeat these horrors.
How is Call Me By Your Name not in this?
Awakenings with Robin Williams & DeNiro

I would have liked to see The Color Purple on this list.
John Coffey's death in the Green Mile is beyond heartbreaking

In my opinion, number 3 is my number 1. Also, anyone think Before I Fall or Dead Poet's Society deserve a spot?

Captain Phillips. The emotion at the end gutted me.
11:07. Gentlemen, it's been a privilege playing with you tonight.
Pay it Forward killed me.

I saw the boy in the striped pyjamas at around the age of 25. It absolutely broke me, and just these clips have broken me again.

The Best and Saddest movie for me is Angela's Ashes ⚱️. That was so Sad and Very Good at the same time.
If Boy in the striped pyjamas is not number 1 , well I just give up. The saddest, most disturbing movie I have ever watched
Why is La Vita è Bella not on this list?!?!
