  1. Nice man. However, the Bible is about understanding —*and* love. Here’s how: The first great commandment is quoted by Jesus: Thow shalt love the Lord Thy God, with all Thy heart, and all Thy soul, and all Thy mind.” — Matthew, Chapter 22, v. 37. It is followed with this, also a declaration of Jesus’: “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love Thy Neighbor as Thyself.” So, you, see, the message of the New testament especially, is about love, but including the mind (understanding). A prayer: Dear God, help us honor and cherish your including the capacity to love when you created us. Help us accept the love which comes from the heart, the soul (spirit), and the mind. DT, M.S.M.

  2. Everyone is a little different. The standard recommendation from the holy men of history is to start with the book of John, as its language and concepts are easier to grasp than the other Gospels’. But if someone likes the oldest history of all, and wants to know how “it” all began, there is certainly nothing wrong in starting with Genesis. Just be prepared for quite many strange words and terms, plus Bible names from some ancient languages, as well as long lists of instructions here and there. It’s a great book, no matter where you start. But some starting points make more sense than others for most people.

  3. I think Hebrews 1:1-2 gives an answer on where to start when reading scripture.

    Hebrews 1:1–2

1 God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,
2 in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.

Start with the words of Christ Jesus and read everything else through that as he is the fulfillment of the scriptures.

  4. We have to study the Bible not just read it but I get it lean not to your own understanding like it says is Proverbs 3:5 but seek God for wisdom and pray for clarity and walk in the spirit. The Bible is not boring not even the part about the begots some people had alot of children. Jesus said be fruitful and multiply…lets not influence kids thoughts to think the Bible is boring in anyway that part is not okay idk this dude but be careful what you say.

  5. I say the book of John where it tells about the love of Jesus more for them to get the feel of Gods love for us. All of the chapters of begats and very puzzling scriptures will turn someone young away. I hope you dont start cursing Johnny. I just found you a week ago
