Thanks for Documentary. But watch Henry Gruver comments about Allen. He said that the alcohol accusation was false. He was set up by a vindictive sister in law and a doctor who was paid to provide a false report. You may want to check it out. Don’t want to see a dear man of God slandered.
My mother went to A. A. Allen's meetings in Maryland, she also attended Oral Robert's tent meetings. I still have one of mom's books she bought from Allen. I am not so sure about the part about putting moonshine in the baby's bottle. In 1911 it was rare for a mother, especially a poor one, to feed their baby with a bottle. They breastfed their babies. Some mothers would drink moonshine themselves to get the baby to sleep as the alcohol would be in the mother's milk. My grandfather also made moonshine and sold it to support his family financially until he gave his life to Jesus. Mom never believed the stories about Allen becoming an alcoholic, she believed he was set up, but many people were healed in his ministry. There were people of great faith in those days.
