A man can see his circumstances and the ends of his behavior. We are not animals fated to behave by fatalistic instinct but seeing our condition we can desire to change. Love is a choice. Otherwise, it is not love.
A born again Christian is fully capable of choosing good and rejecting evil. Even a sinner can too, but often doesn't want to.
