Both sides quote the same Bible. Both sound right. That’s not a you problem — that’s a method problem. The Calvinism vs.

  1. A man can see his circumstances and the ends of his behavior. We are not animals fated to behave by fatalistic instinct but seeing our condition we can desire to change. Finding we have no power to do so, in time the divine that's already in the world and is constantly exerting pressure can and will in some circumstances bring us to call out for help.

As men, we are born with faith. A man will direct that faith and ultimately will serve the object that faith is directed toward. Because God, YAHWEH, is always in the world of men by his Holy Spirit when the object of the man's faith fails he is free to choose God. Some will choose the true God and they will be filled with His Spirit. That's the beginning of salvation and sanctification.

  2. No room to comment. Believe what you want, argue if you want, but whats love in Christ got to do with and obedience to love one another. Pure doctrine leads in to love in Christ and others. That's doctrine written in the heart and those who know Him, know him in Spirit and Truth. And are to love one another. No room to give a redemptive account. 😊

  3. The point that really stood out, here, was about God, being sovereign, deciding who he would create for salvation, and who would be created for condemnation, and these decisions made before the creation of mankind. That is the crux of Calvinism. As Edwards points out, that would make God the author of sin. There is nothing in scripture that I've found which would say God deliberately created people to be sent to hell.

I suffered at the hands of Reformed Christians, tormented by their theology, but God pulled me away from that. I was so relieved to learn Calvin and his followers are up the creek. Hopefully, they might, one day, come to a sure knowledge of their salvation because, as they stand, they have no assurance that God ordained them for salvation before he created them. They may have religious feelings, but that is not assurance they will enter heaven.

  4. Garbage. FREE will: a will that is without cause and under no influence. Edwards wants to change it to A will that is not forced, under no coercion. So he cheats the argument by changing the definition of a free will.

The objection We are not robots following an already written script. Robots don't have wills we do. Two, neither robots nor humans know the script, know what script we are carrying out. Without that knowledge God thereby gives us the illusion of having a free will. Do we go through like acting like we are actors in a play? Definitely not.

Cite one verse showing not will but FREE uncaused uninfluenced will. Ain't happening.

Adam passed along death, mortality, which is a weakened state of being. We are always decaying. This dying state leads us to sin. Jesus was full of the holy spirit. Full of power, the power to never sin. We don't have that. Who has the free will to never sin? Jesus only.

Edwards thinking is annoying. Based more on humanism and human philosophy than Scripture.

God holds us accountable anyway. An admittedly difficult truth to accept. Paul Jobs us: Where we're you? Who are you? The for me only way to really accept it? To realize that as Scripture says, God Himself says, He is Light and Love. Someone we can trust to do right by His creatures.

  5. This video starts out in the first sentence misrepresenting normal Calvinism (Sproul, MacArthur) & inserts Hyper-Calvinism. Even John Calvin wrote that God does not determine man’s choices, make man sin, nor is He the author of evil.

However, God’s Will does serve as a boundary for human free will. We cannot overrule God.

So since this video begins with BS, then I reasonably figure that it’s mostly BS, & there is little value added in watching it. 🤔👍✝️

  6. Just read Jer 18 and Ez 18 all questions are answered it’s not difficult to understand why all the confusion? I agree God changes your nature this is exactly the power Jesus gave that the Law could not give

  7. To Western mindset cannot stand the fact that God is sovereign mankind will always do just run with the inclination of his heart at any given moment like a cow. He is free to eat meat but he will not because that's not his nature. By nature we are haters of God and he must do a work in our hearts for salvation course. Americans are free and we want to be free in everything we do. But that's mock and Grace when you deserve it. There's Grace is no longer Grace

  8. That sounds like alot of Calvinistic Nonesense . God regenerates a person so that they can choose Christ. So, who's responsible for a person rejecting Christ? What Gospel of salvation is there in Calvinism??

  9. So even after all that this fact remains. God chooses who’s hearts he will change, whose desires he will change so that those he chooses will turn to him. Therefore, he chooses who will not turn toward him. Therefore, those who go to hell were predestined to hell. I cannot understand that, I cannot comprehend why God would do such a thing.

  10. His analogy of Shakespeare being the author of Macbeth murdering Duncan and reasoning that God is not the AUTHOR of sin, is FATALLY FLAWED!

    1. Shakespeare is a fictional work, but human beings are not fiction.

    2. Shakespeare DETERMINED Macbeth to kill Duncan, made God truly the supreme author and manipulator of man to commit evil, therefore God is portrayed as evil.

  11. You are in great danger for saying this and posting this. For The ALMIGHTY GOD does not Tolerate Sin . (Unless) a man is born again he ( CANNOT) Enter. Asking Jesus into your heart doesn't save anyone. Repentance and Faith inn , think of a house, a Hotel called an Inn.
You must be inn Christ Jesus not in. The LORD JESUS CHRIST revealed in Holy Scripture old and new testament , demands JUSTICE , He calls you to true repentance , a broken and contrite spirit .

  12. God Does Not Give Free Will To Choose.
    God Gives Commands.

God Told Adam & Eve Which Trees Of The Garden To Eat From.
And Which Tree Of The Garden Not To Eat From.

The Only Time God Gave The Israelites A Free Will Choice
Was When He Told Them They May Give Him "A Free Will Offering".

  13. Look like Edwards read some Bible 🤣…

    Bottom line?
The God of the Bible does not fit in one's personal "little box"…

The Bible says you cannot "comprehend" beyond His revelation to you …
And that Revelation comes through HIS WORD. 🎉…

We need the Mind of Christ… A mind that "always pleases God"… In every situation…
You need the Spirit of God living in you…

God can do anything He wants, at any time, He will not ask your opinion.

He does not require the goofy philosophies of men, "grasping in the dark", to explain Him to anyone… In fact He gave us an 1800 page Book, full of Books, warning us continually,

"To the law and to the testimony. If they speak not according to this Word p, it is because there is no light in them" …

In other words all the light you need is "in the Bible" 🧐

    God is not stupid…
God is not the author of chaos…
    God is not a liar…
God is no respecter of persons…
    God does not change…

Satan is the author of chaos… The father of lies… Rebels in his power when you think you're smarter than someone else…
A master of equivocation and sidesteppin'😎

God COMMANDS you to choose life and obey…

Satan says you can be wise "like God"…🤣🤣

If you want to be anything like God you better get in that word and consume it like it's your last meal 🧐

Believe every Word, and the Truth will MAKE you free…💪

Or you can get on Amazon and buy you another commentary… And remain stupid and deluded😢

    "" Choose Life""

  14. So…if I followed this video correctly, God has to chance your nature before you can come to Christ. But doesn't the question remain: why does God change the nature ( being chosen) of some people and not others?

  15. If God is responsible for sin, then God is evil. Actually, the answer to the argument between Calvinism and Arminianism is the Lutheran answer, which is also Paul's: those who are saved are saved by God's grace alone, those who are lost are lost completely by their own fault. The seeming contradiction exists only in the limited and fallible human mind. God says that both are true. That's all we need to know. Edwards' answer is no more an answer than that of any other Calvinist. It's mere doubletalk.

  16. So all the former Satanists online or preaching are likely controlled opposition I believe that is a true statement they will pretend to be Christians to lure people away from Christ especially the Hebrew roots movement

  17. I guess one big question is , " How do we come to Christ?"Do sinners who are morally corrupt have the ability to choose to submit to God and to believe in Christ without God enabling them? Edward's definitely thinks that it is not possible. This does not answer all objections ,but I will point out that, ultimately ,God will be glorified by saints and sinners. Saints, by their salvation, freely giving all glory to God. And sinners, by their condemnation and forced acknowledgement of God's(Christ's) sovereignty and righteous judgement. Thomas Cook

  18. I have come to the conclusion that common sense can guide us to the truth For example how could aGod of love and justice give people everlasting punishment. We know with common sense that can’t be the case

  19. God doesn't force people. He determined and created their DNA, and environment. He knew that none would seek after Him, but graciously by His own good council selected some for His own good pleasure. He owes man nothing, all humans owe Him everything, yet He saves some. Look at Jacob. He was quite a scoundrel. Do you honestly believe that he chose God? Abram didn't seek God, he didn’t even know Him. Israel didn’t choose to be God’s chosen people, He chose them. They neither merited or in any other way deserved his blessing, but he bestowed it upon them. How is it then that suddenly when gentiles are proselytized in mass suddenly everyone has a free will?

  20. every choice is made dummy or god can not be god how can he know the end and not know every choice ever made? Sorry but they are ALL ALREADY MADE THEY HAVE TO BE OR HE CAN NOT KNOW THE END AND CAN NOT GIVE PROPHETS VISIONS AND DREAMS YOU ARE WRONG. And it says he made some for honor and some not for honor you dont get a choice.
