  1. Was Jonathon Edwards saved?
These messages are about human effort not Christ's redemptive sacrifice. Those in Matthew 7 were claiming their works as a right of entry not Jesus finished and final sacrifice for sin. All who call upon the Lord will be saved. That is all who trust Jesus belong to Jesus. Born again by the Holy Spirit.
Salvation is a gift. Not a reward. This message causes one to think that saving faith is a reward for those who prove themselves to God by their faithfulness. Their efforts. Their performance. Those in Matthew 7 didn't say, " Lord we trusted in you, in your blood shed for us, in your cleansing sacrifice, in your death and resurrection. They who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved. By grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone. Jesus plus nothing.

  2. This message is propagateing a work based salvation. And I don't believe this is a Jonathan Edwards sermon. It is not our love for Christ, or our faithfulness that saves us. If it was these things we would all be condemned. None of us love Christ as much as we ought to. If we did, we wouldn't sin. What saves a person is having faith in Christ Jesus work on the cross. Dying for your sins. And the only way to accept it is by faith. And even this faith is not from us, it is given by GOD. And when you have saving faith it will produce fruit. But we will never be perfect in this life (we try to avoid sin and our sin griefs us, but we will fail). It is not our fruit that saves us. It's Christ Jesus finished work on the cross.
    Soli Deo Gloria
