Spurgeon can hardly be called a Christian, knowing that he's a peddler of Calvinistic Reformed Theory that demeans the Good News of Salvation in Christ Jesus for ALL men (Lk2:10). Tolerance is the embodiment of love. Tolerance doesn't mean accepting sinful acts. I was intolerant of sin before conversion. But only after salvation did I realise how tolerant God was with me till I chose to respond to His Good News. This is my exactly why Paul encourages the believer to consider what each one has received from God (including His tolerance) & show the same grace towards the unbeliever (Phil2:3). Further Jesus was intolerant of the law-upholding self-righteous Pharisees not the common sinner. When Jesus entered Zacchaeus' home, He didn't go in screaming repent or die. We have no record of Him saying anything "intolerant", but we know what happened in Zacchaeus immediately. That's what happens when a born-again child of God goes into this world. ✴️2Cor2:15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
Wow! This is real exposition of our understanding of the true fear of God. The church is guilty of the fear of God. Lord have mercy on us. Father restore this true fear of You Almighty God back into our hearts rather than fear the consequences it will cost us. Holy Spirit come mightily upon and within us to fear God rather than fear men in the name of Jesus. Shalom.
SENTIMENTS put forth are good and biblical – I am not at ALL in favor of making it seem like a Spurgeon sermon when in fact it was only “inspired” by Spurgeon. Our society is so rife with various deception to collect eyeballs on our channels.
I am learning the heart posture of being bold and not being legalistic. I have struggled greatly with this. God says to give food quietly. Be bold when faced with the choice of the world or God. But when you see someone else who is making the wrong choice. Be heartbroken for them and pray first seek God first, and if the instruction is going to them, then remember to be gentle and kind. Steadfast does not mean hateful or harsh. The truth carries God's authority. It does not need us to do anything but to speak it or walk it out in love. 💜🙏🏻🕊
