He was charged for the law of man for praying in the garden n being a prophet to a God romans didn't authorize they did the ultimate punishment for him to make example of him and the others like him bc he made it free to believe in God Even if it's not that way to others other Christians were beheaded and hung upside down and still Christianity is attacked today just for the control of ppl and humans
These reason the pharacis hated Jesus was because he called them out on their preaching and lifestyle. Also because they thought the Messiah was gonna bring an army to free them from the Romans. So they spread lies about him and said he was healing people with magic. The Romans just thought of him as a crazy preacher so they waved it off til they started saying he was gonna start an army. Claudia the one having nightmares started to believe He was the Messiah but she was married to a Roman so she tried to help but was unsuccessful. Peter the one who denied Jesus was crucified upside down years later. His beating was way worse than what was shown. It was said his back was opened up so his spine would touch the cross. The weapon they used was called the cat with 9 tails. The Romans were brutal. Claudia was the one who gave Mary the towels to clean up the blood. The Roman soldier that speared Jesus has bad eye sight, when the blood and water spilled out his eyes were healed. The devil screamed because he could get Jesus to turn from the Father. Crucifixion was a punishment for the lowest of the low.
Should give The Chosen a watch very good show. But of course there are haters who say bad things about it. It's free on The Chosen app. A lot of people are talking about the animated movie King of Kings give a watch
Dear sister, I felt your heart hurting and i cried with you. You are a blessed soul. "Shlomo Ilykum. Maranatha. Mishikha Quimlil" – Aramaic for "Peace Be With You. God Is With Us. He (Messiah) Is Risen."
Jesus died a worse death than that shown. Jesus was not recognizable as a human. His lips had been literally beat off, His nose and shoulder were not broken (not one bone of Jesus' body was broken) but they were pulled out of socket. When the Roman soldier thrust into his side, His bladder or kidney and heart was hit; fulfilling the prophesy of the water and blood being mixed. He was so badly hurt to see all of the evil put on Him, Read Isaiah chapters 51-53 and you will know how badly He was treated. That from Friday afternoon till Sunday morning Jesus went to Hell for those of us who accepts Him as Our Personal Savior wouldn't have to. He also released everyone that had been in Sheol, so there souls went to Heaven and those who had died without doing what God had told them to do with the Ten Commandments and believe that God would send a Messiah, went to Hell. The worst thing put upon Jesus was when all the sins of every person to ever exist and to ever will exist was put upon Him, making the Heavenly Father not be able to look upon Him. Jesus fulfilled everything, including coming back to life on the Third Day. Over 800 people saw Him alive after He was resurrected. Only 4 of the Apostles saw Him ascend to Heaven before most of those 800 people saw Him. "Testimony of Simon Greenleaf" proved that Jesus not only existed but that His resurrection is true because of the 800 people seeing Him alive. Simon Greenleaf started using the "Eye Witness" in the court to prove someone is innocent. Remember that Jesus is the Only True Deity as He is the Only One that has an empty grave; we know where Muhammad, Buddha, and every other supposed prophet or god is buried. Jesus is not in the grave, He is in Heaven.
I would suggest watching, "Ben Hur" as the family Ben Hur is mentioned in the Bible and it also tells of how Jesus saved Him. Great movie set in the time of Jesus, plus a lot of chariot racing.!
Remember…….Christ's actual crucifixion was way way way worse, bloody, brutal, and horrifying than this movie was allowed to show. He had his intestines falling out of his sides, his ribs were showing, chunks of flesh flew off him and he was naked. He had to carry a 300lb cross for miles. It's just crazy what he went through for us. Him dying for us is the greatest gift any of us will ever receive, ever.
read some comments that seem to cover most of it regarding the actor and the story, not sure if anyone did say that there is another movie by mel gibson that is about the resurrection not sure the release date, just mentioning cos one of your comments hoping for a resurrection scene and thanks for this content from the emerald isle ireland , go rath mhaith agat agus slainte.
I've read the passion of Christ, probably dozens of times in various Bibles. I've seen many reenactments, but none of it compares to this. Congratulations on taking this on. It's difficult to watch, but biblically faithful.
I saw this movie for the first time watching a bootleg DVD of this surrounded by 20 Muslim Men in a Villa in the Al-Jadriya Neighborhood of Baghdad Iraq in March 2004.
It was a quite the surreal experience, and a bad bootleg.
I really hate to say this, but an actual historical crucifixion is 10 times worse than that. When the Romans scourged him, they say that his skin was like ribbons, and you could see muscle and bone. They stripped him completely naked, when he was on the cross, and all of His bones were dislocated. They say He was unrecognizable. The poor man had to be on that cross for six hours before he died.
Mel Gibson did a really good job though. I think people really needed to see how Jesus suffered for us.
Pilot didn’t want to condemn Him. You could see pilot looking at those Pharisees with disgust. He was just afraid of a rebellion, because Cesar appointed him there to keep the peace. He even offered released Barabbas, who was a murderer of the Romans. . This movie got ridiculed because of the violence. And Mel Gibson had to pay $30 million of his own money to make the film because nobody wanted to invest in it. But I heard it brought in $600 million and it was a huge success at the box office.
I was so angry watching this film. Then I said to myself that Jesus doesn’t want us to feel anger. But how could we not? It was so despicable what they did to Him!!!
The second movie, Resurrected, is supposed to be out in 2026 I believe
Praise you, Jesus. Thank you for your sacrifice!!!! ❤️✝️❤️
I had to cut this video short because I was getting pissed again… the same when I first watched it at 11 years old. Cassie next movie please watch Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
So many standout scenes in this movie, but Christ's talk with Pontius Pilate is among my favorites, and one that nudged me further along the path of faith.
Pilate asks Christ "What is Truth?" When, in fact, Truth is standing before him, in the flesh. While Pilate's condemnation of Christ is dispassionate, he still cannot see the truth for what it is, and remains culpable in Christ's condemnation. I really had to ask myself "Would I know Christ if he actually stood in front of me? Would I condemn Him without even knowing Him? If only to expediently protect my own interests?
Incredible performances and sharp film making. I'm not Roman Catholic but mad props to Mel Gibson & Co. for their work. Appreciate you reacting to it. There's definitely a religious revival happening in America right now, and if Hollywood had their way we wouldn't even have this film to partake of.
There is a film, "The Gospel of John" which is a faithful retelling of Christ's life. Seeing the Gospel acted out puts new perspective on it. I highly recommend it.
The torture of Jesus is horrifying What a bunch of sadistic and cruel bastards! That is why I will never see this movie again. I don't hate it, I just can't with that scene as accurate as it is. Caviezel did a great performance. Hope your Easter Sunday a blessed one/ God bless us one and all.
If it makes you feel any better, that leather version of lorica segmata (banded armor), that most of the legionnaires were wearing, never existed. And I can't figure out why Pilate would be wearing armor in his day-to-day duties as governor… but, all that aside, I really do like this movie. And, yeah, it's pretty tough to watch! Even for a heathen, like me
I saw this movie when it was first released in theaters. It seems like a long time ago. And I had forgotten how heavy and intense it was. In my life, I’ve always had a touch of spirituality going on. But any faith I had then was much less than I have now. Yet I still remember one audience member in particular. She was a woman, nearly elderly, and she was upset. She was very angry at the scenes depicting Jesus being tortured and brutalized. Her faith must have been profound. And I would use the same word to describe this film.
This movie hits differently now. When it came out, I was in high school. I went to see it with my best friend, but we did not go for a good reason. I was a theistic Satanist at the time, and we went to laugh at Jesus's pain.
If you're curious, I'm not a Satanist anymore. I was Christian for three years at one point, but it didn't stick. There were far too many things that made no sense. If I had to describe my faith now, I'd say I'm gnostic. Not agnostic, gnostic. There is a big difference. Gnosticism was a religion that was outlawed by the Pope for blasphemy since one of the main things they believed in was that the god of the Bible was evil and there was another God above him.

28:47 Man Cassie… men do more evil things than this every day, that you don't even know about, because it's easier for you not to.
After watching this movie, you should check out the series the chosen about his life and ministry
Should give The Chosen a watch very good show. But of course there are haters who say bad things about it. It's free on The Chosen app. A lot of people are talking about the animated movie King of Kings give a watch

"Risen" is my fave movie around this. It's from the point of view of a Roman Tribune. Starts with Jesus on the cross. It is powerful.
Much worse 😢 they broke their legs so they can’t breathe die faster

If you watch the Chosen you'll see his life, really good series
Cassie's innocence and goodness restore my faith in humanity.
