As a Russian Orthodox I can tell I absolutely loved the first movie. I have so much gratitude for Mel Gibbon. He showed us the suffering of Christ that no one saw in 2000 years. Looking forward to the next movie.
The Bible states that Jesus went to hell after His death on the cross. Jesus set the captives free. It is not just a Catholic belief. If you study the Bible in depth too, you will find it too. I would suggest not to be critical of topics that you do not fully understand. I would suggest that you fully understand a topic before you make a video about it.
If Gibson wants to keep the movie historically accurate he MUST record the baptism formula as it was in the period, invoking Jesus Name only and NOT in the titles as didn't happen until the late 2nd century. Also, when n.t. believers were filled with the Holy Spirit, they spoke in languages they never learned. These 2 things he must keep historically accurate. He would attract tens of millions of Oneness Pentecostal fans.

Can't wait for it. Jim Caviezel has been the best Christ portrayed ever on a film. I feel him like Christ himself speaking to me. So sad that actor Hristo Jivkov has passed recently, and we can't see him as apostle John in the sequel. He was an actor truly present in biblical films, he played the role of Saint Stephen in "The Inquiry"; may he rest in peace.

I am a believer who believes he did die and arose again from the grave and is now next to his Father in Heaven above but I gave this review a thumbs down because when you hear the narrator you can tell he is not a believer and to me is not giving it an honest review. It seems that the time has gone by for the sequel to be made. Jim is not a thirty something anymore. Instead of three days having gone by it would be about 19 years that have gone by. It just isn’t going to work. It is not just Jim but the rest of the cast has aged as well. Last I heard Gibson still had two scripts that he had not yet decided on. He has postponed this production a few times now so I have no sense that he will ever do it successfully. I don’t think that he believes he can do it himself.
Thank you JESUS for inspiring these men and thank you Mel n Jim and all who take on and answer the call!! Lets not forget that all involved is what makes the movie !!! Everytime i watch the Passion or even the older version i cry hard!! Knowing that this is what my LORD and SAVIOR went theough for me! Im sure HE endured much much more than what we see here! To know that people can be so deceived! I wish the Passion could be shown on the screen of what we call heaven for all to see n experience! It is real HE is real! HE bought us back because HE loves us this much! I can't imagine what this movie will be like with all the technology we have now! How Mel will portray it all. The 3 days in hell and JESUS return! What we have out there now is just of JESUS appearing to the disciples pretty much. Oh i pray it is as good as the Passion! We need this! We need a great revival and a returning to the 1 true GOD! In the Passion Jim had a seperated shoulder and really went through some pain! I pray he will be healthy n have no issues this time around !
Mel Gibson, Although I haven't seen your new movie as yet, I know the Bible well. (big fan of your Passion movie BTW. Finally a worthy depiction of the Lord.) Yes! Jesus absolutely DID go to hell…. (which I think was His real reason for suffering in the garden.) In hell, He faced down the tens of thousands of imprisoned rebel angels and also went over to the Paradise side to release all of the Old Testament saints. (my hero) AND, your prophetic new movie will probably be tame in comparison to what will really happen at His return. I wish you would also make a movie about the special times after His resurrection. For instance, His very funny cuteness at the end of Mark. (that should greatly appeal to your very own sense of humor) His awesome romantic encounter with Mary M. at the tomb. His awesome appearance to Peter in prison… kicking him and telling him to get a move on. (a little revenge there) The this and this and that and that of so many events that only you could tell. How about doing a breakfast bar be que on the beach for His men scene? So many new ways to get to know our superhero !!!
The commentary on this is somewhat disrespectful…mentioning many times how Mel Gibson can make things up as he pleases due to there not being reams of Bible entries regarding the subject matter. They even compare it with “rock monsters”in a Noah film. I won’t be subscribing to this channel. Can’t wait for the film, we all desperately need it. Well done Mel and all the actors for having the courage to do this in a world duped by satan and very hostile to we Catholics (for obvious reasons)….
