Jesus is not representing himself; he is representing his Father [God]. In John 7:16, Jesus says โmy doctrine is not mine, but HIS that sent me.โ Those with the Holy Spirit know whether Jesus speaks of himself or on behalf of the Father. Jesus continues to tell us that โhe who speaks of himself seeks his own glory: but he that seeks the Fatherโs glory, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in himโ (John 7:18).
Those who think Jesus is representing himself instead of the Father will be damned. Repent, for Jesus only speaks what the Father commands him to speak (John 12:49-50).
