We may be tempted to think this kind of message is soul lifting and can be quite transforming but no, we are just exciting people unnecessarily. The kingdom doesn't work this way. We were given same God's nature at salvation (nature gives us the same character of God) but different levels of glory. No amount of wishes or prayers or fasting would have made anyone in Moses time to be like Moses. No amount of wishes and efforts would have made anyone in Peter's time be like Peter. All that the apostle saying is only true for him and a few others that God would raise for that purpose. When the three Hebrew boys fasted and prayed with Daniel, though they all did the same thing, Daniel was given more endowment than them (Dan 1 : 17). The endowment was what singled him out in that kingdom. There was no way they could have been like Daniel nor do exploit like him though the were great lovers of God too. You will notice the bible didn't talk much about them like it did of Daniel. When the king forgot his dream, the four of them all fasted and prayed but Daniel was the one God chose to reveal the meaning of the dream to and therefore he was the one honoured. So, his honour wasn't because he did better. It was because that was how God wanted it. I can go on and on. I am not promoting indolence or mediocrity but the truth is the truth. We must do all we need to do: pray, fast, study, live holy life etc but God will decide what He wants to do with us individually. We must accept God decision without grudge and that must not stop us from continuing in our prayers, fasting etc. The problem of this kind of teaching is that when people do all they need to do without results as taught to them, they become disgruntled and discouraged. Those who get results also look down on others thinking they didn't get result because they refused to do the right thing. Look around you and learn God's way from other creatures of God. All animals are not like the lion. All fishes are not like the whale and all birds are not like the eagle. In heaven, the elders are different from others. Among angels there are levels. They didn't work for it, God made it so. There is a glory of the star but every star is different in glory (1 Cor 15)
