In 1980, Lee Strobel is an atheist journalist and investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune. He and his wife Leslie have a daughter named Alison and are expecting their second child. After getting a very special recognition, Lee and his family go out to celebrate with dinner, where Alison chokes on a piece of candy. One of the patrons, a nurse named Alfie, intervenes and saves Alison. She credits the event to God’s will, which Leslie takes to heart.

Leslie and Alfie become friends and start attending a Christian church together; irritated, Lee unsuccessfully tries to dissuade Leslie. Due to advice from his mentor, Lee sets out to find evidence that proves that the resurrection of Jesus did not happen. Meanwhile, Leslie gives birth to a son, Kyle.

Lee starts gathering information and evidence. Next, he tries to prove that the witnesses were hypnotized, but a psychologist proves him wrong. Lee then tries to gather evidence that Jesus may have not died or was taken off, but again, a physician proves him wrong, saying Jesus had to have died on the Cross.

Meanwhile, Lee’s estranged father tries to reconcile with him, but Lee brushes him off. His father dies soon after, and then Lee learns that his father truly loved him, which surprises Lee.

Lee is also investigating a case of a murder of a police officer. At first, it looks like the convicted man is guilty and an informant for a gang, but Lee proves that the cop had shot himself with a secret gun disguised as a pen, and the convict is freed.

Lee tries to get more evidence for his religious investigation, but his mentor explains that whether he chooses to believe or not believe, the last part of proving His real existence is faith. When a colleague gives him a speech, Lee decides to take the leap of faith and believe. When he tells Leslie about it, they have a happy reconciliation and pray together.

  1. The Bad News- You are naturally a born sinner and have broken at least one of the law (10 commandments) at least once in your life (Example: a lie) (James 2-10 says if you break one of these laws, its the same as breaking them all), so because of this you're on your way to hell already, everyone is (Romans 3-23)

The Gospel (Good News): JESUS, Who is GOD in the flesh, came into the world and died for us, to free us from the curse of the law (10 commandments) and ressurected on the third day so that whosoever BELIEVES in HIM will not perish but have everlasting life! GOD said this! GOD cannot lie (Titus 1-2, Hebrews 6-18) we can lie because we are sinners. JESUS saved us already (Colossians 2-14) Just BELIEVE and TRUST in HIM! HIM ALONE, anyone who gives you another Gospel, whether an angel or one of us, let him be accursed, like it says in (Galatians 1 6-9) JESUS ALONE! Not religion, Trust in HIM and you will receive the GIFT of THE HOLY SPIRIT. GOD HIMSELF! Repent ye and BELIEVE the GOSPEL (Mark 1-15). AMEN!AMEN!!

  2. Sometimes we have people in our lives tha donโ€™t believe in JESUS: they donโ€™t understand, and sometimes they may not want to, BUT: we MUST put OUR HEAVENLY FATHER, before all else. Even if that means we lose others along the wayโ€ฆโ€ฆ

  3. Interesting story and sometimes a tear-jerker.

On the other hand, logic takes a beating at 26:11. Does the martyrdom of some early Christians prove their beliefs were true? No. As Strobel says to Habermas, "People die for lies all the time. 900 people died drinking poisoned Kool-Aid at Jonestown." Then Habermas replies "… here's the difference. People don't knowingly drink poison for something they know is a lie." True, but it completely misses the point. People DO knowingly drink poison for something they MISTAKENLY think is the truth. It explained Jonestown and it's also a good explanation for the Christians martyrs.

  4. Wonderful Movie, It touched my heart when he asked "why did Jesus die? the answer is Love, thank God for His everlasting Love for us that He gave His Son Jesus Christ for us…

  5. Thank you so much for sharing this!! I have been wanting to see it badly. I looked on your channel and saw many more I have been wanting to see as well. Thank you friend for sharing. I pray our God blesses you and your seed abundantly.

  6. I just would like to take the time to thank my SSG in the army whom has shared this with me. Growing up, I was never pushed, nor exposed to religion. And after my friend passed away at 18 in high school, it put into perspective many questions for me about it. Since then I've claimed to be agnostic.
I've been here at my first duty station for several months now, and have had many down moments. And life has been tough adjusting to everything I've been through.
For a month now, my SSG has been taking me to and from work since I have no car. And every morning he listens to a Christian podcast. In the beginning, I listened, and had so many questions and concerns. What amazed me, is how he took the time to sit with me and answer many of these questions. He was never pushy on the religion aspect, but more so on his beliefs and how to explain how and why he is the way he is. And it's opened alot of doors for me.
One example was, my mother called me a couple weeks ago to check on my mental health. She too was in the army and understands the struggles of it. And she knew i and my wife were having troubles in our marriage and wanted to make sure I was happy. I assured her it was a rough patch and we would be okay as time goes on. The following morning, my SSG picks me up, and plays his podcast as he usually does. And the first thing they talked about was the struggles of marriage… And at that moment I knew, it wasn't just a coincidence. It was something more than that. I feel that somehow, God put us together for a reason. He put him in my life to show me something bigger than life…

After seeing this movie tonight, it's really put everything into perspective.
As they said in this film:
To believe in God, or to not believe,
    Both take faith. ๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

  7. Jesus

    Worthy is the Lamb

    That was slain for us

    Son of God and Man

You are high and lifted up

And all the world will praise your great name.
Song lyrics sung by Natalie Grant

  8. Believing in God does not mean you have to believe in Jesus.
    Jesus wasn't/Isn't God.
    There is no heaven/hell
God is just energy and we are all part of that energy.
Jesus ain't coming to save you.
    Grow up.
