  1. Thanks. Indeed a masterpiece of art. But let me ask: Why calling it "The Best Christian movie ever made"? Yes, it is the adaptation, with artistic liberties, of the story of God and the Israelites as in the book Exodus. Wouldn't it therefore be better calling it "The Best Jewish movie ever made"?, since it is a story taken from the Old Testament?

  2. Exactly! YES!! It is totally my favorite even though it makes me cry ever time I watch it! I make my little cousins watch it with me when they come over! Everyone teases me if I watch it by myself! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  3. Truuuuth!!! PoE is my favorite film to this day and played a MAJOR part in my decision to pursue animation. ❀

If I may – I would highly recommend (if you haven't already) checking out the David Project!
It's an animated film about King David that's in the works right now, and it looks incredible. The film is being produced by Angel Studios – the same studio that's responsible for the Chosen series – and takes HUGE inspiration from PoE as far as quality of storytelling & animation goes.
The movie itself is currently set to come out sometime in 2025, but there's a short demo film that you can watch rn on YouTube! I would definitely suggest checking it out, it's worth a watch.

  4. The Prince of Egypt is literal art in motion and fully utilities the unique liberties in visual storytelling. I love how the movie doesn't pause to give an exposition about who God is, why Ramses won't let the Hebrews go. It doesn't spoonfeed it's audience and that adds to the rewatching factor, and it truly is an inspiration for me to tell stories like this one day in God's will.

  5. The fact that a secular studio made one of the only pieces of Christian art that doesn't suck is pretty embarrassing ngl. We desperately need more Prince of Egypt's nowadays. My dream is to see a Christian anime though lol. Especially since Japan is a largely Shinto Buddhist country.

  6. "The Prince of Egypt" is a great Christian movie!
I also enjoyed "Hacksaw Ridge," "Silence," "The Passion of the Christ," "Risen," "Ben-Hur," "The Ten Commandments," "All That Money Can Buy," "Sergeant York," "Friendly Persuasion," "King of Kings," "A Man for All Seasons," "The Nativity Story," and "The Small One."

  7. I didn't like it because it got so much wrong and at the time it came out I was talking a Sunday school and I happened to be going through the Exodus and some of the children were saying – that's not what it says in the movie πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
By God's grace, Moses knew he was an Israelite because his mother Jochabed ended up bringing him up
It was Pharaoh's daughter who picked him out of the bulrushes, I think the film has it as Pharaoh's wife
The Bible doesn't say he had an Egyptian 'brother' (he would have been his adopted brother)
At the end of the film I think it mentioned that you could read the story in the Bible and the Qur'an – considering the Qur'an twists the Bible, it's hardly a book to rely on.
I can't remember the rest of it, although I would say I loved the music!

  8. YESSSSS as soon as I saw the title I hoped it was Prince of Egypt!
As a Christian who is also fascinated by storytelling in media, this movie is an absolute masterpiece. It's reverential to the source material, awe inspiring and touching to Christians and Jews, yet also entertaining and interesting enough to be recognized as the magnificent story its based on deserves to be

  9. In my opinion, the best Christian movie ever made was Book of Eli. Not TECHNICALLY a Christian movie but its story centers around a post-apocalyptic world where God uses one man to protect a Bible until he can get to a printing press so that the people of the wasteland can hear the Gospel.

Of all the movies advertised as Christian movies, however, Risen is absolutely my favorite. Great story, great direction and Joseph Fiennes is such an underappreciated actor.

That said, if we throw TV shows into the mix, The Chosen is easily my favorite faith-based visual product of all time.
