Social media gives teens new platforms for self-expression, validation and even potential fame — but at what cost? Today, thanks …

  1. We've built a superficial "like" world for children and when they suffer the reality of life…. they have no coping mechanisms. I feel sad for what is taking over our lives today.

  2. Western civilization can't get any more depressing than this. This whole documentary is, in fact, unbearably depressing. Slaves who enjoy being slaves, and losers whose biggest dream is to become a slave. Wow.

  3. This generation of kids mean well but boy are they a bunch psychopathic narcissists. It's not just teens though, there are some full grown adults who suffer from the same approval syndrome.

  4. I’m age 73. I don’t give a horse’s rear whether people “like” me or not. Furthermore, I do not want zillions of people to “follow” me, and I have exactly zero interest in being “friends” with people I don’t actually know.

  5. as I saw these kids having fun and earning a lot from social media its kind a wow… but my kids are not active as they are. They are not even posting their selfies on their socmed account. They are only using it to view some videos and connect to their friends.

  6. To be honest I don't even hate the platforms as much as the people they target. A lot of the content is just brain rot but people eat it up. Seeing people talk about their social media clout is just sad.
