  1. also, some of the name choices for the ost are honestly hilarious
    "dipshits on a roof"
    "murder the shreks!"
"what's the worst that could happen?"
    "[the worst that could happen]"
    "grand theft ice cream truck"
"i just met you and you almost killed me"
    "megamind, gru-type SH*T"
    "conveniently place pizza van"
    "attack on a titan"

  2. Not many people have mentioned the director of this also did Mitchells versus the machines, which has a great animation style. They also sounded like teenagers because they are teenagers.

  3. I didn't like it and I didn't hate it. I'm sure Gen-X viewers will love it but felt it was subtly too preachy for me. But Seth Rogan wrote it so that was to be expected after I thought about it. Too many pop culture references for me but it did fit the turtles characters. If you're stuck in a sewer as a teenager you are gonna be obsessed with Pop Culture so it fit but that type of stuff will be in movies more after Post-MCU launch I guess. The newer generations will love these turtles but they're definitely not my turtles but it's okay I'll just watch TMNT (IMO the best Ninja Turtles movie)

  4. I wasn’t really a Nickelodeon kid but I really enjoyed this. I found the character designs and art style very Nickelodeon-esce similar to shows like rugrats and as told by ginger, the angry beavers, the fairly odd parents etc. I thought the soundtrack and score was great and really added to the movie.
I found it also ram packed jokes and a lot of references some of which I really liked and appreciated. Maybe a bit too many but overall thought it was a great movie, one parent and children can enjoy together ❤️🐢

  5. This is tricky. You code close to my age range. I'm pushing 40.

I saw 1990 TMNT in theaters. I was single digits. Thing is. I wasn't into them until my older sister's best friend teased me "you must be into TMNT".

That's when I picked up on it. I would wear a pizza/tmnt shirt every pizza day in school; 4th and 5th grade.

I don't read comics, but am aware the comics are dark.

So when Raphael says DAAAAMMMNNNN in the first movie, I felt it. I didn't emulate. I just felt it.

  6. I thought it was ok I just felt something’s should’ve stood in like the martial arts and how splinter origin story was.. I mean the whole meaning of the foot clan and shredder being splitters archenemy brings the story together..

  7. Dude I just watched this movie and it’s so sad that so many other movies are burying this one when it comes to marketing. I rarely saw trailers or even in-theater promos for this movie. I have to say this is probably my 2nd favorite movie of 2023 (over spiderverse because this movie actually has a resolution and isn’t forcing me to see the next movie for a conclusion) Please watch the crap out of this movie in theaters so we can get a sequel with SHREDDER

  8. yeah april has often times struggled so thats not new either. in the orig movie Judiths Hoags April legit got fired in the damn movie. mind you that not her struggling with confidence but still, they always had obstacles for her

  9. Very underwhelming. April ONiels redesign is horrendous. Another terrible attempt to make your movie woke by black washing another red headed character. The turtles voice actors had absolutely no chemistry. Michealangelo and Donatellos voice actors in particular were subpar. This movie is cluttered with terrible pop culture references that are really cringy, they even mention Tiktok..
There are many instances where it doesn't even feel like the ninja turtles. They have very little individuality and mostly operate as a four headed body. Donatello disrespects his appointed weapon multiple times which feels like they are taking themselves as a joke. Which is fine but I don't see how we should be expected to care either. As stated earlier it doesn't even feel like the ninja turtles. The entire plot revolves around them not even wanting to be ninja turtles anymore. They instead wanted to be high schoolers, ditching their ninja bandana to go to public school.
It has redeeming qualities mainly within the visuals, and kid funny friendly moments mostly inspired by Jackie Chan's performance. But overall this is nothing more than another mediocre rush-felt film designed to keep kids entertained for 90 minutes. They don't allow themselves the necessary time to flush out a single turtles's character.

  10. Why are "Die Hard Fans" always predicted so negatively. Whenever someone says that phrase they never thinkbof the ones thatvare actually pretty cool and chill. Im a die hard fan of TMNT and im actually really looking forward to seeing this film.

Also especially with this franchise, well its kinda like this with every long running "Superhero" comic series, but TMNT is known for Multiverses and dimension hopping.

Its a very casual thing in the series where turtles would somehow go back in time or across dimensions to meet different versions of themselves so this isnt really nothing new.

And this is coming after a really successful kid focused tmnt movie that was released on Netflix last year too which brought people by surprise and the series the movie was from was one of those shows that the "Die-Hard fans" didnt like at first.

We already learned our lesson about giving these newer and different takes into the franchise more chances and so far tmnt fans have been eating real good 😊

  11. I’m sorry but I didn’t like it at all … for me it was boring story and the fact (this gonna sound racist) but everyone here was black and that’s what drove the entire movie ..I get you are trying to include every race but in this movie every race was excluded

But by far for me the worst .. was splinter he went from a wise sensei to a big mamas house winey the old man … no just don’t

I rather see Micheal bay movies 100 more then this crap

  12. Loved it 😍 so good! The turtles reminded me of my teenage cousin! Nailed it if you love 80s and 90s hip-hop like De La Soul in a tribe called quest you’re going to love this movie

  13. Well, well, well…. for all you 'Sound of Freedom' lovers…. "Fabian Marta, whose name appears in Sound of Freedom credits for helping fund the anti-child trafficking blockbuster film, is charged with kidnapping a child." ….. Oh, the irony. 😆

  14. As a lifelong TMNT fan, I thought it was so fun. The changes still felt in line with the source material to varying degrees, which is all I ask for. The Ninja Turtles themselves were well-cast & Ice Cube & Jackie Chan were standouts as well. Definitely getting this on blu-ray. I hope it makes enough to get a sequel given you-know-who is waiting in the wings. And it might just be me, but I'm beginning to desire comic book heroes more as animated big-screen adaptations than live-action ones. It feels like more care & creativity is given to the animated films.

  15. Your fairly tepid endorsement of this film makes me a little sad. I thought it was marvelous and should be nominated for Animated Feature of the year. Trent and Atticus should also get a nomination.

  16. As someone who grew up with the original series, I enjoyed it.

There great moments, some heartfelt moments(however nothing came close to the scene with Splinter and Ralph from the 1990 movie).

I loved April, and while she had social anxiety, she felt like she had the energy of the original

As for the art style, I absolutely loved it because it felt like a hand drawn version of those old claymation/stop motion movies(down to the drawn lines on the face/bodies that are like puppeteers fingerprints or the smoke/exhaust clouds looking like fluffs of cotteb). Loved it

  17. 4:00 kind of surprised he was very dismissive of the villains goal. The turtles almost aligned with him because they could relate to his struggles as a mutant too. Much more interesting than "the villain wants to take over the city or whatever."

  18. Since I watched and grew up with 2003 ninja turtles, I really enjoyed this movie. The art style really works and mesh well with the grittiness of New York. I've seen bits of the 80s, 2012, and even seen the movies and read the OG comics. With that said, I enjoyed this movie. I love Splinter and Mondo Gecko and the turtles are great

  19. I saw the 1990 movie when it came out at age 6! I'm perfectly happy with the artstyle, the music is great… Bebop and Rocksteady were surprising, but I'm fine with it. After all, I'm not here to watch the same movie over and over again! Very curious about where things go next.
