*There was an error at 2:00. The verse is supposed to read Genesis 39:9, not 37:9. Sorry about that. :/ Thank you to all of our supporters for pointing that out!
On Cain, I find it interesting that the KJV Bible translation placed by the Gideons gives him a mark that ensures anybody who kills him is — ahem — avenged sevenfold.
Thus the origin of a lucky number, because Cain was lucky to walk away that day.
Before I started reading the Bible I thought about the word "sin" as error or mistake. And what do we do with these? Correct them and then learn from them, by not repeating the mistake. As I began to read the Bible more, i perceived sin as any form of destruction , to others and to ourselves. Destructive behaviour in general. I always disliked the word sin, it's very "heavy".
Yes, this is a very useful description and differentiation of the three words of the Bible, sin, iniquity, and transgression. But I also think iniquity is an inner evil that is not manifested. It is premeditated just as David did when he sinned with the wife of Uriah.
SUPER helpful and insightful!!! Thanks so much Tim and John and your team for putting these out!! "Unfortunately most of the time humans sin in the Bible they either don't know it or they think they're succeeding!
Sin is more than just doing bad things but how we easily deceive ourselves by spinning illusions to redefine our bad decisions as good ones!!!😲☹️😞😭
This truly highlights how INCREDIBLY GOOOOOOOD The Good News of Jesus coming to take our sins is❣️❣️❣️😁😁☺️☺️
I was a little confused at the word change. At the beginning of the video we were told that the Hebrew word for sin is "khata," and then suddenly the word "hamartia" pops up. So I looked that up. Did I miss it somewhere that "hamartia" is the Greek word for "khata?"
We were born in iniquity. But all Praises and Glory to God for sending Jesus who was without Blemish for us to see and follow as he guided those who chose Christ to the cross with our sins.
Keep in mind that sin also means imperfection. So not always something we do or not do, but something we are all born with. Because we are imperfect we break down and die, no matter how righteous we are. Praise God that he has promised Jesus will return someday and make our bodies perfect, without sin.
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:1 Corinthians 15:1-4

The lamb sacrifice that doesn't have any blemish in order to be considered a sacrifice was a precursor to Jesus. A lamb is incapable of thinking about sin. Yet a man is capable. Jesus could've done sin because he is human, but he didn't. The unblemished would be in Jesus' soul instead of the lamb outside. That's one reason why he's called the lamb of God. The sacrifice without blemishes.
I am a sinner. It is my way to get what I want and ignore the cost to myself or others. And every time I successfully give others what they need before I get what I want then I die to myself and live for Him. Progress not perfection, yes? Keep making your videos because I need reminders every day. Peace!

Wow! I never knew how it is God who we sin against when we cause harm on others…and ourselves. Because we are all made in his image.
Thank you 🙏 I love what you do to help people

Can we have a video about the word blameless? ❤
AMEN🙏🏿✝️❣️
This one video actually encapsulates the whole Bible!
Kudos to you! I like all your videos. They break Bible down in simplistic bites. Thank you!
1 John 3:4 says sin is transgression of the law.
I am THEIST which means…..
I am definitely human, but I have a very early version of the human brain. The "Intelligence" portion is not yet properly formed.
I am not capable of making a decision on my own – God makes my decisions for me.
I am not capable of taking responsibility – God takes responsibility for me. If I Fxxx up, it's Gods fault!
I am not capable of understanding Science. (OK, I'm a bit thick.) Anyway, my God says it don't matter cos God has all the answers.
(Ok, he was wrong about the witches, but we only slaughtered a few…)
I am astonishly arrogant about what I think I know, because I know I'm right. I speak with God (don't you know!)
I am ridiculously ignorant of the things I do not know. There is nothing I and God don't know.
Knowing I have God on my side means I am better than you.
My God, out of the 30,000+ Gods is the ONLY GOD. I know this because I am Theist and I am right.
"THEIST" = "THE" "1ST" in BULLSHIT.
"THEIST" = Zero Intelligence.
"THEIST" = Holding back humanity.
