Should Women Wear Trousers? | Pastor Sola Osunmakinde | Household of David

Should Women Wear Trousers? Must women wear trousers at all? What does the Bible say about women wearing trousers?

  1. Deut 22:5 refers to what is known as transvestites. God does not want any confusion of the sexes as is now. A man must identify culturally as a man and a woman as a woman. If I see a woman and begin wondering if this is a man because of her dressing and vice versa this is an abomination unto the Lord! The issue of modest dressing is a different topic completely unrelated. A lot of harlots wear mini skirts and show parts of the body that should be hidden. Some men expose their boxers and chest hair in the name of fashion! The Holy Spirit warns His church…let your moderation be known to all. If a lady wears a female cut jeans or pants with a top that covers her body in a manner pleasing to God, He is glorified. In our culture we have the very long kaftan that looks like the bubu women wear but because it is culturally acceptable to see a man that way, the Lord is also glorified. Let us seek deeper understanding. However if you are not wearing pants as a christian lady pls don't feel you have to and vice versa. The most important issue is that your heart and appearance even of jewelry and make up are modest and will glorify your father who is in heaven. For naysayers Research why Apostle Paul called the Galatian church foolish! Selah

  2. Deut 25:5 is one of 613 laws given by Moses. If your Pastor tells you that wearing of trouser by women is a sin, then his Beard he shaved is equally a sin(Lev 19:27).
Also the catfish/crayfish he eats in food has made him a sinner also.
Please people should understand the essence of Jesus' death!

  3. Acts 15 19-21 19Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God, 20but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from [f]sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood.

Please remember the apostles did not want to interfere in the work that God was doing to turn the Gentiles to him. So by the holy Spirit the saw that the Gentiles should abstain from Idols, Fornication, strangled meat and blood. But many forget to read verse 21.
    Acts 15-21
21For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

In other words the Gentiles would be taught in the synagogue and taught the teaching of Moses. The apostle Paul himself taught the Gentiles on the Sabbath day.

  4. The main question every Christian should ask is, “What am I trying to say or accomplish by what I’m choosing to wear?”

We can draw at least seven principles from Scripture about clothing choices:

    1. Does my clothing illustrate my surrender to the Lord and my commitment to holiness? (Romans 12:1; Titus 2:11-12; 1 Timothy 2:10)

This doesn’t mean a “plain” person is more surrendered or a “fancy dresser” isn’t. But God sees the heart. He knows.

Addressing women in particular, Paul said believers should adorn themselves with purity, in a way fitting them to worship God with honor and reverence.

    2. Have I focused on my heart, or only my wardrobe? (1 Samuel 16:7; Proverbs 31:30)

We must distinguish between the world’s evaluation of charm and beauty and the true loveliness of inward character. Cultivating godliness should be our priority.

    3. Am I making clothing choices consistent with transformed thinking? (Romans 12:2)

One sign of change by the Holy Spirit is self-control. We learn to master our appetites and impulses (Romans 6:12-13). It’s a wise choice to define our wardrobe choices by freedom in Christ rather than seeking conformity to the world and becoming a slave to the whims of fashion.

Also, Christ-followers are made for good works (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14) and should dress in ways—attractively and functionally—to enable greater service to others.

    4. Do I live with contentment regarding clothing purchases? (Matthew 6:28-30)

The Lord will provide for our needs, but not all of our wants. If we are preoccupied with our wardrobes and getting more, we may be missing opportunities to meet others’ needs.

    5. Am I practicing modesty and discretion in what I wear? (1 Peter 5:5b)

Modesty is not anti-fashion; it’s pro-adornment in godly ways (1 Timothy 2:8). Believers should adorn themselves in a discrete, seemly way (Proverbs 7:10).

Cultural discretion is a key component. Just as Paul acknowledged what was communicated by the Greco-Roman culture and warned early Christians not to follow these fashion patterns of his time, we must be aware of the messages and values clothing might communicate in our own culture.
    6. Do I dress with dignity and strength? (Proverbs 31:25a)

Our lives should be adorned with a demeanor of reverence toward God and respectability—showing dignity and respect for ourselves as well as others.

    7. Are my clothing choices bringing glory to God? (1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 10:31)

We are not our own. Our choices should reflect Christ’s Lordship in our lives and our desire to honor Him.

  5. We must ask God wisdom, revelation. The pastor is 100% correct. Who sees or knows are thought in our hearts , No ONE BUT GOD. The holy spirit in dwells in us. Inside not outside, showing off. Therefore once you are born again, truly he the holy spirit will sanctify, you himself. 2 Tim 3:16, four things should happen in your spirit1. Correction
    2. Instructions
    3.convict you
    4. Train you to walk right, (righteous)
    AMEN
I used to be confused on this subject and I chose to ask the creator, God his mind about this matter (widom) so he said it's not clothes we wear its confusion in the spirit, where MAN are confused that are men and they go buy clothes in female clothing section and vise versa.hence you see a man in a relationship is acting as a female. I LOVE YOU FOLKS. Read Roman's 1 ans old testament leviticus 18. Truth in Love. Jesus loved sinners he came for them not the righteous. So we dont judge other but love them enough that they shouldn't go to hell. AMEN. SO DRESS MODEST.

  6. Jesus loves you all and is coming soon! ❤️ if you haven’t repented and turned from sin and accepted Jesus as Savior believing He died and rose again for you, today is perfect and scripture says that today is the day of salvation!!

  7. And other thing the word says In the old testament that a woman is unclean on her cycle and should not be in the sanctuary, what are they doing there unclean? After they have a baby they are unclean so why are your women singers singing on their cycle and they praying for people on their cycle ? Yea I thought with y'all uneducated self,

  8. Should a woman work and take on the role of a father when the husband leaves? Let's talk about that.talk about the sex toys the single women have, that's sin, only foreigners are Islam basic wanting to control the women, wearing dresses do not make them save , it's what In the dress that's sinning

  9. When it was written in d bible, what the men(including jesus) wear in those days of the bible was a robe a.k.a gown,
There was nothing like trousers then.
D question is who said trousers are just only for men?
Secondly those native/cultural wears whereby men are expected to tie wrapper/wear gown.
In conclusion that verse was also relating to homosexuality and The only case i see is that most sisters dress seductively both in trousers/skirt(especially those with long sleet).the point is to dress modest

  10. True, true💯. Holy Spirit was grieved at some of the weddings of the children of God, because they had too much hanging out. I was watching a few last year on Youtube and I was ashamed for the ladies because she was practically showing her breast in the wedding gown. I am glad he has reveal this to you also Man of God. This is confirmation that the dressing needs to be modest. I agree with you.👍🏼

  11. Spot on! Another way to specifically address the Trouser issue is to clarify "what pertaineth to a man" and "what pertaineth to a woman". Its pretty simple, the trousers women wear are shaped differently from the ones men wear….🙂 And if you say trousers were originally for men alone you are wrong. Traditionally the men of some tribes in the world wear skirts and wrappers…🤷‍♂️ The same goes for some women who traditionally wear trousers.🙂 Let's stop being hypocrites and focus on what is important. Glory to God!
