Earlier in John(verses 3-5) Jesus says we need to be born again. Born of the water is referring to baptism. All of the early Christians interpreted it this way.

Love the podcast video, but the most important thing for people to understand is God's attributes after salvation, which are God goodness, God's omniscience God's omnipotence God's love, God's grace God's mercy and Just. Understanding God's attributes will make it easier to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. And that it isn't a work base faith. it's not a work-based faith it's just like having a relationship with any other close person in your life. and a lot of people find it hard to follow Jesus Christ because they're stiff neck and hard-hearted. Acts 7:51-53 Christian Standard Bible Resisting the Holy Spirit 51 “You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your ancestors did, you do also. 52 Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become. 53 You received the law under the direction of angels and yet have not kept it.”
jesus said all the father sends me will come to me it took many years before i heard the fathers voice then i knew i was saved i realy wanted to know jesus i belived in him but i diddnt know him i am free water baptized i want to bless people by saying dont give up on jesus he is allways on time
Baptism IS essential! Romans C6 V1-6 baptism is how you PUT on Christ. If you are not BAPTIZED into Christ, you are NOT his. Even JESUS said, REPENT(change) and be what? Baptized.
Acts 2:38 Peter told the crowd to do WHAT? For WHAT? Be baptized FOR remission of sins! Without baptism THERE IS NO FORGIVENESS OF SINS..
How do you get in Christ? Romans 8 tells us there is no condemnation for those that are in Christ. so what scripture tells you how to get in Christ Romans 6:1-10 Galatians 3:27. we are saved by faith so what is Faith James 2:14-26. Jesus tells us if we love him we will obey him, and then God will come live in us. so having faith is also obeying scripture. Matthew 28:19-20 Mark 16:16 Acts 2:34-41 what does it say about the people that believed. seems like they obeyed the message because they believed it. you will see a common theme that I'm pointing at but I want you to know it's not the act that saves you it's faith In Jesus that saves you but it's the obeying of the message that allows Christ to live in you. it's how you get the gift of the Holy Spirit. without that, there is no salvation. we will never be good enough but as paul states, we should strive for perfection even though the odds are we won't make it. once you are saved can you lose that salvation? remember Jesus said those that love me will obey me and the father will live in them, well if you stop obeying (I'm not talking about failing a trial. I'm talking about going back to your old life of sin) then you no longer love Christ and he will no longer dwell in you. see he won't leave you, it's you leaving him.
