I had just hit my 20โs when this man died. It hurt me because I was a pre-teen watching this man preach messages that helped raise me. After seeing him, Jamal Bryant, local leaders fall, Christian family members live open sin, I too said why choose holiness. Worst decision ever made. I spent 10 years in a personal hell. I did whatever my flesh desired and it left me with nothing, broken, battered and destroyed. But God! Itโs been 5 years and Iโve been rebuilding, relearning and trusting in God. I now know not to put people in the place of God. The Lord has been good to me โ he was never at fault even though I blamed and walked away from him. I also left because I wanted to do my own thing. Elders, leaders, please be mindful of your walk in public and private. It always shows up and it destroys the little eyes watching.
FOR THOSE WHO THINK YOU CAN LIVE YOUR LIFE KNOWING CHRIST AND HIS WORD,CONTINUALLY IN WILLFUL SIN AND YOU REPENT RIGHT BEFORE YOU DIE,you will l repeat LIFT UP YOUR EYES IN HELL!
i understand what some people in the comments are saying and there is some validity. That's true, we don't know his final moments before he died so eddie may have well truly repented and could be in the presence of God. Here's the thing we tend to overlook though. This man had great influence over a multitude of people. When it came out that he was cheating on his wife sleeping with those BOYS (under 18) the following Sunday he didn't confess to what he did. He just said and I quote " I got five rocks in my hand and I'm gonna fight this". When it came out that it was true he made them sign nda's and never publicly acknowledged what he did even until the time of his death. He stepped down from his role as pastor never making a statement about the gravity and nature of the sin he was engaging in. He was not operating in truth. Ravi Zachariah did the same thing until he died. Steve lawson is currently doing that right now! That's called fear!!! Fear of accountability and being viewed a certain way which is prideful and egotistical. You may say that's none of our business that's between them and God! My response is to read the bible and see how Paul describes the role of a leader and how they should operate when they don't live above reproach. Leaders need to step up and take accountability and realize how they affected the flock since they will be judged more harshly. The name of God is blasphemed amongst the non believers when they see us acting ungodly. There are so many different components that go into this type of situation in the which scripture cleary shows, illustrates, and asserts on the downfall of elders. If I'm wrong and he did apologize publicly instead of sweeping it under a rug dying a slow death, I'll take back everything I said and eat my words! You need to have receipts though! You can't play with God!
We all must repent and itโs something we are suppose to do daily. Yโall can judge this man all you want but HIS SALVATION is between him and Godโฆ..not usโฆ.work out your own salvation.
Why bring this foolishness up now. I'll tell you why. To show where peoples hearts are. Do you serve God and trust his word. Or do you go the other way. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Someone calls you insane, and you clap and cheer. ๐๐ When God says he has given you a sound mind.
