To me she is an example of the perfect RC, first at church, first to contribute money and time, first to suck up to the clergy in public but also left notes such as 'my father told me the priests are filthy mouthed morons'. She was always ready for verbal and physical interaction with most anyone but particularly my mother.
Over one billion, 1×10 to 9th power, people are gullible enough to accept the teaching of RC which violates likely the first three commandments by teaching to pray to saints and they manufacture or have manufactured many images of saints and what is their version of God for sale and distribution.
Little wonder the thinking engendered by these Biblical contradictory teachings and practices.

BUT!!, possibly due to England's history with regimented and at times proscribed religion he may have been somewhat reluctant to accept God working in some of the more 'degenerate' or 'dickensian' people which were possibly the focus of Wm. & Catherine Booth just 'across' the river who established the 'Christian Mission' later and now known as 'The Salvation Army'.
This is something worth considering, so it seems, as 'The Salvation Army' today is more prominent than Charles Spurgeon. Here in the US some preachers never heard of Charles Spurgeon but know of 'The Salvation Army'.
Vincent's word studies at biblehub.com explains the meaning of the word blasphemy as also failing to discern people or organizations or anything that exhibits purpose of God’s work.
36:48–37:05…"God has given me salvation, but he means me to work it out; that is to say, he has worked it in me by his gracious Spirit, and I am to work it out in my life; and so to let others see, by my walk and conversation, that I am really saved.”
It may be that Spurgeon could be misunderstood here where he designates the quote as of an unknown "somebody" and this reminds me of the verse to the Philippians at 2:12 which The King's English (KJV) also seems unclear to me and the meaning is best in the NLT.
Philippians 2:12 "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling"

A commentary, which escapes me now, claimed the possibility of certain early Rabbis seeing in either or both Leviathan and Behemoth a 'world system'.
In the following verses God is the creator of Leviathan in Job but Isaiah's Leviathan is likely referring to a different Leviathan.

Psalms 74:14 "Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness."

It seems to me that pursuing technology is the Western worlds equivalent of juggernaut or possibly the continuation of Thomas Moore's search for Utopia.
Along with Moore's Utopia it is possible Desiderius Erasmus, his bosom buddy, and Erasmus ' 'In Praise of Folly' should be considered as to the influence these works had on the 'Reformation'.
