  1. These are our personal stories and experiences. Everyone's journey in or out of the LDS Church is different. This space is for respectful dialogue and shared understanding, not for judgment or attacks.

Hurtful, mocking, or dismissive comments will be immediately removed. We welcome questions and discussion, but we will not tolerate cruelty toward us or anyone else who shares their story here.

  2. I was baptized and became a member of LDS years ago, I didn't stay long. Once I found out about thier concept that men held all the power. That and the ideas about the racist ideology they have, I couldn't stay any longer

It's so culty. It's Orwellian. It stuffs out critical thinking and stunts healthy individual development. It's a breeding ground for corruption and abuse and major harms.
I gave my life to this church and to this way of thinking for decades. And when I found out the leaders had intentionally lied to me and hid important truths from me for my whole life, I was devastated.
I'm trying to grow up and re-program my thinking now in my 40s. And it's really hard sometimes. Much harder than simply turning off my brain and doing what I'm told, and thinking I'm righteous and worthy and securing my eternal happiness for it. It's so harmful. It's gross.

  4. It’s incredible how many testimonies get their first crack or completely fail due to polygamy. This is a serious problem for the church and they seem to be doubling down on the doctrine. You should do an episode on the church finally acknowledging John Taylor’s 1886 polygamy revelation.
