  1. Why did Jesus ask to be spared from death?
Jesus offered up prayers and strong crying to Him that was able to save him from death—his Father. Jesus had fear, but it was the fear toward the sovereignty of his Father [God] (Hebrews 5:7). Although Jesus is the Son of God, he still learned obedience by the things which he suffered (Hebrews 5:8). Jesus was asking his Father to strengthen him and to help him be strong and mature in all things. For all who abide by the words of Jesus have eternal life because all things whatsoever Jesus has belongs to his Father (John 17:7). Jesus is not God.
