Hey there, I have been having a similar struggle. I don't think it makes us inherently a hypocrite when we read the word and find we don't measure up. We will have our good days and our bad days. When you realize there is an area in life you struggle with, and you acknowledge it then you are not the hypocrite. The hypocrite is the one who denies their flaws and claims that he or she is following God's law perfectly like the pharisees. (And may or may not judge others by their very high standards)
The Bible also talks about false teachers, but I believe the only false teachers are the ones after people's money and using God to enrich themselves socially or wealth wise. Of course, there is nothing wrong about talking about God on social media, and if a creator gets ad revenue because of it, it is okay as long as God comes first in everything posted, not the money or fame.
The only people Jesus ever yelled at were the Pharisees using their righteousness to make others feel less than, or the money changers trying to cheat people financially in God's temple. (that is what I was told) He never got mad at the pharisee Nicodemus for wanting to know and understand more about Jesus as well as his message, he was never mad at the old woman giving the penny she had. In the old testament God gave Solomon wealth after he gave him wisdom. There is nothing wrong with wealth as long as you can use it to help others and don't horde it or use it for sinful purposes. (that is what I was taught) . I do not believe the false teachers are the Christians reading and trying to make sense of the Bible. I believe they are just misguided Christians not false teachers or a hypocrite.
I believe that God is ready and willing to forgive any of our sins we say in public or on social media. We just need to make sure the people we watch and the posts we make are putting him first and not ourselves first. (When talking about Him)
There have been times I have acted hypocritically or acted rashly in my life (all of us have, if we try to deny it we are probably lying to ourselves, but hey I don't want to claim to know everyone's life, I barley understand my own), but once I asked for forgiveness, God forgave me and I learned my lesson. I try to learn something from my mistakes because I want to do my best for God as well as my family friends and other people in my personal life.
Sometimes the best thing we can do after slipping and falling in the muck of our sin is to acknowledge what happened and what we did, ask the lord to help us, and when we reach our hand to him he will not only extend his hand but help make us clean again.
I think the best thing for Christians to do is believe in God, follow the golden rule, have our private meditation with Him, when appropriate talk with others about how God helps us. Even though I have been a Christian my whole life I go on social media, find people pointing the finger, Christian denominations pointing the finger at other denominations and trying to convert other Christians, rather than helping fellow Christians, or reaching out to the non-believers in need of help and a savior.
I have never found peace or understanding from the internet. Different perspectives yes, correct perspectives, both yes and no. What worked best in my life was finding church activities and helping to participate, as well as starting to try and make a difference in my community. Even if it is not a Christian lead mission you can still do that work for the Lord. God cares about us doing good to others and wants us to do the best we can to take care of He world he created for us.
I am still on my journey and trying to find my way through life, but no matter what people in this world tell me, I know as long as I have God in my heart and in my mind, then nobody can take him from me.
Jesus told us to not be anxious about the cares of this life, which is my biggest struggle, and if social media causes anxiety, or fear you have somehow lost favor with God due to something someone online said or something you saw, then maybe we should either cut it, or use it to preach kindness in an often cruel world.
If I misspoke or said anything bad about God I repent, I love Jesus and wish to share him the best I can with those who need him. I hope God blesses you! Have a wonderful day!
