What a trip to run across this movie on YouTube. I was one of the watercameramen on this flick. I worked a very long day shooting up near Point Conception, mainly filming a buddy of mine (Jay Riddle) stunt doubling for Mark Harmon. Pretty lame flick but it brought back some fond memories.
Well, at least they have their boards on properly. There's a scene in Chasing Mavericks where Frosty is driving his van down the highway with his boards on backwards. However, 5 seconds later, by the time he pulls up to Jay's, they were on properly…except now they were on the wrong side. lol. Continuity my friends.
This movie is surprisingly deep on so many levels, divorce, death, depression. And effective. I must admit I was almost in tears a few times.Having grown up in the era of "suck it up kid" and losing a father very early, I can assure you that philosophy does not work. Just wish there were a few more "Jim's" out there when my Mum was alive.

This is a really good movie. The boy that played the little brother is Jeremy Sumpter, he went to school with my son here in Kentucky. He was always a good kid. He done a great job playing this role in this movie. After he got a little older, he played the part of Peter Pan in the newer Peter Pan movie.

Greatest Movie 🍿 I really enjoyed the movie, clean and loving.

I love anything Mark Harmon is in. If you like surfing check out the blind surfer on youtube . Hes also a voice actor.
