For many years, I use to listen to this type of preaching. Over a period of time, I started to feel like something was missing. I was caught up in the emotional antics of today's preaching. It wasn't until I stopped listening to them, and started listening to people who were studying the Jewish bible, that I began to understand, that the gospel has been watered down. I purchased me a Jewish bible, a hebrew pictograph, and a bible chart, maps, and time lines, also learning the gematria of the numbers of the Hebrew alphabets. I started studying their culture. I looked at architectural videos about the holy city, in order to understand certain places that are mentioned in the bible. I began studying the eschatology of the prophecies given. I looked at documentaries, of saints of old, like Corrie Ten Boom, Gladys Aylward, amongst others. These people were persecuted horribly, and did a mighty work for God! I tell you, it has made a world of difference. How can we know the word of God, and we don't understand it's original language? It wasn't until I started on this type of journey, that I started realizing this type of preaching we are receiving, is emotional rhetoric. We are so far from the gospel. It saddens me! Please people, take time to dig deeper in the word of God. It is so much more than sitting in a large building, with the music thumping, and getting emotional, and feeling good. We must pray for these type of preachers! We are hearing sermons that are full of fluff!
