you need to activate preview window at the settings to provide lags, it is still going to lag if you put 100 sounds and images on it. But it makes the resolution lower but that is no big problem
If you drag an extra clip over top of another clip there will be a purple thing that pops up and then you can choose propoties and there are tons of transitions
Excellent video. I'm a beginner just trying to put a lot of old family clips together. They're fairly tacky but have a lot of sentimental value. This is perfect for me. Really appreciate the bit about Shotcut shutting down, I thought I was doing something wrong. It always pops right back up though, so I'm good. I hate it when someone who knows it all does one of these. They tend to leave out little things that EVERYONE knows, except for me.

Question about issue (adding audio onto video): So I am not being able to add an MP3 or MP4 audio file to go along with any of my other MP4 or MP3 video clips on Shotcut? I Have tried several things already!? please help if you know about this? ~ I Basically (in timeline) select my video to highlight it > Then I select "Track Operations" > "Add Audio Track" > and then from my timeline I tried to drag and drop the audio file onto my video file but what happens is that my video file moves all the way to the far right and seems to be unable to sit on top of the audio file no matter if I try to drag the video file and bring it all the way to the front manually it will not allow me to? Has anyone experienced this? its really making me wish I did not already invest so much effort into this program? If anyone has experience resolving this issue that will be greatly appreciated!? For someone giving a masterclass there are a few things you admit to not actually knowing eg 32:44 and the cursor thing is not called a scrubber – it is the play head. However, I have learned some thing, so thanks for the video.

it doesn't let me drag them.
I know it's been 2 years but you could change the preview quality to the lowest quality so that it doesn't lag as much on playback.

It's lagging probably because you're working with 4k video – if you had it in 1080p it'd be fine.
Would anyone recommend exporting with the "Youtube" preset?
