The Measures of the Spirit – Apostle Arome Osayi Introduction Theme: The sermon explores the different measures of the Spirit that believers can experience. Apostle Arome Osayi teaches that the Spirit of God is given in measures, and as we grow spiritually, we can access higher levels of grace and power.
Key Scriptures: 1 John 4:13 – "Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit." John 20:19-22 – Jesus breathes on the disciples and imparts the Holy Spirit. Romans 6:1-11 – The believer’s victory over sin through the Spirit. John 3:3 – The spiritual senses that are awakened when we are born again. John 5:20-21 – Jesus operates by seeing what the Father is doing. Purpose: To help believers understand how to access and grow in the measures of the Spirit. Apostle Osayi teaches that by exercising spiritual senses, believers can walk in the power of God, receive direction, and experience deeper intimacy with Him.
Main Teachings 1. The Spirit is Given in Measures Just as Elisha received a double portion of Elijah’s anointing, believers can grow in their measure of the Spirit. Spiritual effectiveness depends on the level of grace and anointing one carries. 2. The Indwelling of the Spirit Key Verse: 1 John 4:13 – The Spirit within us is proof that we dwell in God and He in us. The Holy Spirit is given to every believer, but not all believers experience His fullness. The Spirit dwelling in us gives us the ability to overcome sin and live above worldly temptations (Romans 6:1-11). When we recognise our position in Christ, we become “dead to sin and alive to God.” 3. The Holy Spirit as Our Guide The Spirit guides us into all truth and directs our steps (John 16:13). Apostle Osayi shared his personal testimony of how God led him to resign from his high-paying job in the oil industry to follow God’s call. True guidance from the Spirit requires obedience, even when it contradicts human logic. 4. Spiritual Senses – How We Perceive God A believer is given spiritual senses to engage with God. These senses include:
A. The Knowing of Revelation Key Verse: 1 John 2:20 – "We have an unction from the Holy One, and we know all things." This is an inner knowing that bypasses the mind. Jesus always knew His time, His mission, and what the Father was doing (John 13:1-3). This knowing comes through intimacy with God. B. The Sight of Affection Key Verse: John 5:20 – "For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth." Spiritual sight is given as a sign of God’s love. Seeing into the spirit realm is a privilege given to those who walk closely with God. When God wants to bring someone into a higher level, He gives them visions and revelations. C. The Hearing of the Spirit Key Verse: John 10:27 – "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." God speaks through inner impressions, audible voice, or supernatural encounters. When God speaks, His words often come in short, clear sentences. Apostle Osayi shared how God told him, “Your job expires the day your passport does.” This led him to resign and step into full-time ministry. Illustrations and Examples 1. The Call to America Apostle Osayi shared how God led him to move to the United States for a season. He had a vision of a red maple leaf 14 years ago, which later confirmed that God was leading him to live in Minnesota (Maple Grove). This example highlights how God speaks through visions to direct His servants. 2. The Power of the Indwelling Spirit While working in a hostile Islamic region, Apostle Osayi exercised his spiritual senses for survival. A Muslim colleague came to him for help because his wife was barren. Through faith, Osayi prayed, and she conceived. The testimony led others to seek Jesus, showing that miracles open doors for evangelism. 3. The Miracle in South Africa In a large crusade, God instructed Apostle Osayi to tell a crippled woman to stand up and walk. Initially, he hesitated, but when he obeyed, she was instantly healed. This demonstrates the importance of hearing and obeying the Holy Spirit. Practical Applications 1. Develop Your Spiritual Senses Exercise the knowing of revelation – Ask God to reveal His will to you. Seek the sight of affection – Ask God to show you what He is doing. Train your spiritual ears – Spend time in worship and prayer to hear God’s voice clearly. 2. Reckon Yourself Alive to God Romans 6:11 – "Reckon yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God." The more conscious you are of God’s presence, the more you will experience His leading. 3. Obey God Without Hesitation When God speaks, do not delay. His guidance may not always make sense, but obedience leads to greater manifestations of His power. 4. Engage in Prayer and Worship The church should be a prophetic company, like Samuel’s school of prophets (1 Samuel 10:5). Worship and prayer create an atmosphere for the Holy Spirit to move. Key Takeaways The Spirit of God is given in measures, and we can grow in our spiritual capacity. Believers should reckon themselves alive to God and seek to experience His presence daily. We have spiritual senses that allow us to perceive God’s voice, His will, and His direction. The Holy Spirit guides, speaks, and reveals as we grow in intimacy with Him. Obedience to God's leading unlocks new dimensions of anointing and power. The church is called to be a prophetic company, where God’s presence is tangible. Conclusion Apostle Arome Osayi’s message challenges believers to go deeper in their relationship with the Holy Spirit. The Christian life is meant to be a supernatural experience where we see, hear, and know God. By exercising spiritual senses, we become instruments of His power and glory in our generation.
Action Steps:
Set aside time daily for prayer and worship. Ask the Holy Spirit to sharpen your spiritual senses. Seek to hear God’s voice and obey Him without hesitation. Be open to supernatural experiences, such as dreams, visions, and prophetic words. Final Word: "Find Him. Seek Him. Know Him. And when you do, your life will never be the same." – Apostle Arome Osayi.

Thank-you Apostle for this message. Your ministration empowers believers to become what God has called them to be and that is what the gospel is all about. A true man of God. Thank you for sharing deep secrets and insights.
Shouldn't spiritual senses be 5 instead of 4? I think smell is missing. The funny thing is I watched a video some moments ago where Apostle was teaching about the spirit of perversion and he gave a testimony where he actually perceived a foul odour and traced it to a lady, and was able to tell that it was from a spirit of perversion. I've heard many other testimonies of people smelling foul odours or flowers or something even when there's no physical evidence for such smells. When the eyes of some of those people were opened, they'd either see demons or angels.
Today am the first one to comment, thank you Jesus

There are too many advert interruptions in RCN messages. This cuts off the flow of the Spirit. Can anything be done about this?
