I feel gaslit just hearing that. From that last addition alone I can tell these parents see nothing wrong with their ways and it absolutely infuriates me. I have been in a similar position with my father, but I was lucky enough that I still had my mother who recognized she was truly wrong and she tried her best to help me further in life. Not perfectly.. she certainly had her own issues after leaving my father, but at least she truly admitted she had been wrong and genuinely apologized.
